Description
This is the first place on the property the sun reaches each morning. Nestled against ironwood, arica palm, cook pine, Formosan koa, and Timor black bamboo, it is surrounded by native plants such as tī and kipukupuku fern—giving a tranquil vibe hearkening back to earlier times. Inside, most windows face east, opening to prevailing winds, making it light and airy. A deck off the front door faces west, and opens onto a kahua hula (stage) set among trees, shrubs and grass. The space The interior is small, around 300 sq ft, with a dining nook, a kitchenette (everything but an oven), bathroom with shower, sleeping area, closet space. Thereʻs a dedicated queen-sized bed and an "Osaka Sleeper" which serves as a sofa or a full-sized futon bed. And while the sofa bed can sleep two, it's pretty tight, requiring the sofa bed to be moved out from the wall etc. The space is perfect for a couple or a small family. Thereʻs a washer & dryer onsite. Guest access Each guest will enjoy the little cottage all to themselves. The nearest structure is the ownerʻs house, several hundred feet away. The little cottage has its own driveway off the main driveway. It would be possible to spend some days here and never encounter anyone else.
