1st Avenue Old Charm
1st Avenue Old Charm
Description
Built in 1838, this house has a welcoming entry way with old wood carved banister and archway. The house has gone through a remodel and has this nice room ready for someone who enjoys staying in a home with access to kitchen, high speed internet, and off street parking. I also have roommates so the chance to meet someone and chat is also there. That said, the kitchen is in use, and isn't going to be a cooking showcase with empty counters since we live here. You would want to be comfortable. The space The inside is updated with modern touches... and comfortable home environment. If you like old houses with hardwood trim, arches, curved bay windows, bench seats, stained glass windows, and big front porch to wave at traffic and say hi to people walking by, this is the place. Since the house is from 1838, please understand that some of the character comes from being old and worn, and not perfectly new - you will want to be comfortable with this during your stay. Guest access You will have access to put food in the refrigerator, and light use of the kitchen, and dining room. Please let me know what your needs are beforehand. There are 2 shared bathrooms, 1 on each floor. There are stairs to the bedrooms so you will want to be able to climb and descend stairs. During your stay Sometimes I am on site and other times work keeps me away and busy. My small Shih Tzu is often with me when I am home. She is well behaved, and occasionally barks, but I try to contain that. Other things to note On another note, the house is old... you will hear the floor and stairs creek when people walk, plumbing when it is used, the sounds of nature and weather and the train 3x day close by. If you are sensitive to those things/noises, it won't be the best choice. If you have challenges pop up during your stay, send me a text first so that I can get it resolved instead of Airbnb because they aren't here to help.
