The Gilbert Chadwick House on Charter Street is a renovated, centrally located apartment perfect for visiting all of Salem's sites and having a nice place to relax at the end of the day. Previously owned by the Peabody Essex Museum, this property was lovingly restored with a modern look. The space - Central A/C - Two Roku Tvs - Parking for up to two cars (tandem) - Stocked kitchen - Coffee & Tea -2 queens, 1 pull out twin Guest access Exclusive access to this first floor apartment. Other things to note The property has been carefully restored, but it was built in 1830. Floors are a bit uneven or creaky, you might here light footsteps. Additionally, you are staying in an apartment not a hotel. Please treat the space with respect and out of respect for neighbors in the building quiet hours are after 10 pm, especially when entering and exiting your apartment. If any problems arise, we will do best to take of them as quickly as possible. We are located right in downtown. People often remark on how oddly quiet it is considering the location. Occasionally we are reminded with the sounds that we are, in fact, in a densely populated urban area.
