Nestled in a safe and quiet neighborhood in beautiful Mountain View you’ll find the perfect space to stay while on vacation. Covered parking, private entrance and awesome location all rolled into one. Walk to your private Ohana across polished lava rock pavers past your private use BBQ grill and outdoor seating area. Perfect for enjoying spectacular sunrises with a cup of coffee to making a meal to enjoy Al fresco. Inside you’ll find all the comfort of home. A luxurious queen bed and bamboo pillows with soft cotton sheets to sleep in. A Roku TV equipped with all the popular APPs such as Netflix, Hulu, HBO and YouTube. Full size refrigerator/freezer, microwave and coffee pot in the room. We include K-cup style coffee, paper plates, napkins and plastic forks. Enjoy your private bathroom with soft luxurious towels and amenities such as hair dryer and provided shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion and plenty of paper products and lots of extra towels. The closet in the hallway has all the essentials for an awesome beach day including beach towels, an oversized beach mat, Tommy Bahama beach umbrella and two sets of snorkeling gear as well as a great flashlight for the short night hike inside Kilauea Volcano National Park to view the active lava lake (when active) About the area: Mountain View is a great place to stay if you’re looking to see the majesty of Kilauea and her active lava lake (make sure to go to USGS’s website for the latest updates as Kīlauea is known to be quite active with brief “pauses”) as well as enjoy the beaches, shopping and dining of Hilo during the day. A 10-15 minute drive to Kilauea Volcano National park where you will find beautiful hiking, superb dining and spectacular views. We provide a great flashlight for the short night hike inside the park to see the lava when the lake is active. Just 20 minutes away you will reach the city of Hilo for shopping, dining and beach activity. Make sure to check out Carlsmith Beach for awesome snorkeling and Honu (turtle) viewing. A short drive South you can check out the town of Pahoa where you can see Lava Tree Monument Park and the lava flow of 2018. The Ohana is set up for two and not ideal for larger parties. We have no accommodations for infants or children. This space is not ADA accessible (no ramp, no widened doorways) for wheelchairs etc. There is a single step up into the room from the polished pavers. We ask that there be no indoor smoking of any kind. If you do smoke please do so outside with the door and windows of the Ohana shut and please dispose of any smoking materials respectfully. Quiet and respectful couple ready to have you enjoy our beautiful Ohana. Mahalo! Currently the Ohana is segregated to the remainder of the house. You’ll notice a doorway hiding behind the refrigerator which will eventually lead to a private kitchenette. We love our guests! We will always play it by ear and let you lead how interactive you’d like to be. Your space is private and we keep it that way unless you choose to interact with us! Many of our guests have enjoyed banana picking in the lower portion of our lot, fresh papaya off the tree when fruiting, and lilikoi from our bush out front with us. Friendly neighbors. A family neighborhood for sure. Expect the young ones to be riding their bikes and scooters on sunny days. Car Rental is a must. Ride share services such as Uber/Lyft are extremely scarce and the bus is on a very light schedule. This room is not ADA accessible and carries no assistive features (ie ramp, widened doorways etc) for wheelchair access.
