Stoney Lonesome Retreat
Welcome to Stoney Lonesome Retreat. Why Stoney Lonesome? Not entirely sure, you can blame it on my great grandfather, old Fredrick Richard August Christian Uhde. He named the property back in 1972 and the name has stuck!!! My parents Elward and Susan purchased our property in the summer of 1969 for $500 and we have been here ever since. My brother and I were raised here and now my wife Gretchen and I are so proud to be raising our son Simon here. The third generation on this land. The space You will be staying in our 800 square foot apartment with private entrance on the bottom level of our home.. My wife Gretchen and I along with the help of friends and family built our home over the course of 10 years. We are located on 6 acres of wooded land about 15 minutes west of Kalispell, about 30 minutes from Whitefish, Flathead Lake, and Glacier International Airport and 50 minutes from the west entrance of Glacier National Park. Our apartment is very comfortable and cool in the summer and warm and cozy in the winter due to our quality construction. Along with a private entrance there is covered parking. Our apartment consists of an open living room and kitchen with plenty of room to gather and move around along with a comfortable fold out futon sofa/bed. There is a separate bedroom with a comfortable queen bed and an additional sleeper sofa for the kids or just a great place to relax. The kitchen is outfitted with a full size stove and refrigerator as well as an 8 foot stainless steel table to gather around. We stock fresh local coffee and you will find the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to prepare a quality meal. A large bathroom with washer and dryer rounds out this sweet place. Books and games are provided for additional entertainment. The tv can be used with any of the streaming platforms that you subscribe to. We love animals and have a few of our own, but they do not have access to apartment. This is a pet free zone. Guest access Feel free to walk around our garden and our lawn area that is immediately near our home. Please DO NOT, for any reason cross our fence and enter our neighbor's property. They really aren't very pleasant and are not accommodating to trespassing. Other things to note We welcome you to our home and this lovely part of Montana. Our Father lives nearby in his own home. He's a pleasant old fart, a little rough around the edges on occasion (probably from all the years working in the woods as a logger and contract thinner). Try to give him his privacy and don't wander around his home and deck (he might bite). Isaak our newest Fur Buddy is very friendly and general roams the property. We understand if some one doesn't care for dogs. We can arrange for him to stay out of your area.
