Other things to note Historic charm & climate: This is a beautifully restored 1920s triplex with high ceilings and original details. The home is kept at 70–72 °F via central A/C; ceiling fans in each room help circulate cool air—a necessity in older New Orleans homes. In peak summer (July–August), one back bedroom may feel slightly warmer in the afternoon. We provide portable fans and airflow support if needed. Bathroom layout & privacy: The primary bathroom features a sliding barn door and a partial glass shower panel. It looks great but offers less privacy than a traditional door and may allow some water to splash out. Floor mats are provided. Triplex living: Your apartment shares a wall with local residents. Please expect normal living noises (including laundry) and observe quiet hours from 9 PM to 8 AM. Neighborhood character & transportation: Central City is a residential area undergoing revitalization. It isn’t a tourist district, and some guests find the surroundings look rough on arrival, though most feel safe. It’s a 10‑minute drive to the French Quarter and a 12‑minute walk to the St. Charles streetcar. We recommend rideshare at night for added peace of mind; the police and fire stations are a block away. Grocery & dining access: There are no grocery stores within walking distance. We provide a digital guide with nearby supermarkets, convenience stores, delivery options and restaurant recommendations. Plan to stock up on essentials before arrival or use delivery services. Ambient noise & wildlife: Being in an urban area with mature vegetation, you may hear possums or other small animals outside at night. Earplugs are provided for light sleepers. Access & layout: Guests have a private entrance with keyless self‑check‑in up three steps. The unit is on a single level. The owner’s closet in the main bedroom is locked and not accessible. Free street parking is usually available, but spaces aren’t guaranteed; paid lots and garages are nearby. Safety & maintenance: The property has exterior security cameras and secondary locks on doors. We routinely service the HVAC system and appliances; if you notice any issues (e.g., ice maker not working), please let us know and we’ll address them promptly. Who this space suits: Our home is ideal for guests who appreciate historic character and understand that New Orleans summers can be hot, even with efficient A/C. If you value modern amenities and a central location but also want the authentic feel of an early‑20th‑century home, this space will delight you. A rental agreement will need to be signed.
