Whatever you need, you’ll find in the River Escape!!! The cabin is set back from the river, but including a river lot offset to the right when facing the river. Follow the garden path! We keep it cut down so you can walk more easily to the bank. Under the cabin, you’ll find a few things stored away to help make your stay more homey like a fire pit and grill. You’re welcome to pull them out (please don’t cook under the cabin and ruin the fun ;)) and enjoy the outdoors. On the lower deck, you’ll find your main seating area. We have some citronella options for the Louisiana wildlife (ie mosquitos) during most seasons, but the view and rest of the scenery are worth it! All of the furniture can be shuffled around to seat at your pleasure. We keep the hammock and sling chairs to the side of the wrap around porch near the lower level entrance door. The kids can hang life jackets on the ropes or towels to air dry. We are family-friendly, so it’s set up for our kiddos as well. On the upper deck is where you’ll find the main entrance and digital door lock. There’s a porch swing and wooden furniture to add the nostalgia of our grandparents’ camps in our own childhood memories! Swing the cares away as you slow down for your stay. Feels free to park in front or beside the cabin off of the road. We strive to have your stay set up with the basic essentials for a cozy, country stay. We are nearby in the city for any emergencies that arise as well as a backup host if we are out of town. Send us a message and we will respond asap to make sure you have a private, comfortable stay. We fell in love with our family cabin from the moment we arrived. We hopped in the car after extended searching, made our way to this country cabin minutes away from all things “city,” and knew it was the one! We have fantastic neighbors as well as the original builder still in the “neighborhood.” May of our neighbors share their cabins, etc on AirBnB, but we all share the same love…the River! If you’re a water-lover you know, it’s just got a peace that takes you away. We call it the River Escape because when you’re here, you’re here. From vacation to work-cation, we host and we also use this cabin with our kids and our River Fam neighbors. When you stay, you’ll get it! The cabin is on a well-maintained dirt/gravel road. There’s an old school car wash just outside the neighborhood if you want to knock the dust off on your way out. What we love is that you are in total country/river seclusion at the cabin, but in 6 minutes you’re at a gas station, convenience store, grocery, restaurant, etc… It’s like you never leave the city until you turn in to the community! You may see all kinds of wildlife on your stay. From fish in the river to deer in the woods and and everything in between, you’ll be “camping” without the roughing it part. Feel free to bring a tent if you would like to extend your adventure to the pure outdoors, but the cabin is the way we prefer! As with any country life, be on the lookout for bugs, snakes, birds, and our famous Louisiana mosquitos which can be spotted year-round! Welcome to our neck of the woods with a fabulous view!
