Enjoy comfort and luxury glamping in canvas bell tents on a working horse ranch. With exceptional ocean views and lush green pastures, your stay will be one to remember. This listing is for the ’Lokahi’ Bell Tent. This 16 foot tent is set up on level and cleared tent site. Your tent is fully furnished with all of the same comforts you would have at home. Queen sized bed with linens, nightstands, seating, clothing storage, twinkle lights, lamp, throw blanket, towels and washcloths and rugs underfoot for comfort. This tent has one queen sized bed to accommodate 2 people. If you would like to add one additional guest to stay in your bell tent there is a $20 fee. This fee will include a cot with bedding and pillow. A short walk from your campsite will take you to the outdoor common area. This is shared space to prepare your meals, hangout, and meet new people all while enjoying a picturesque view of Haleakala across the Alenuihaha Channel. We provide a fully functioning kitchen for cooking your own meals; stovetop, flattop grill, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee pot, French press, pour-over, cooking and serving utensils, electricity and seating with a view. We provide coffee and tea for guest use. There are bar stools, picnic benches and a gas firepit. We provide roasting sticks, bring s’mores supplies! Just past the kitchen is a outdoor shower with hot running water, shampoo, conditioner and body wash and bathroom. This is also a shared common area. Next to the kitchen is a small garden that you are welcome to harvest from. We also have fresh duck and chicken eggs available for purchase. Hawi Nani Ranch is a working farm and horse ranch, so you will see the owners and workers around the property. Feel free to interact with us! And if there is anything you need please let us know! There are multiple bell tents on the property. We can have multiple reservations each day, so please do not be surprised to see other guests in the shared common areas. You may be cooking, or hanging out along side other guests. We hope you can take the opportunity to make some friends! There is almost always a ranch hand or owner on the property, so if you have any issues please do not hesitate to reach out. The tents do not have electricity. So if you would like to rent a small duracell electric generator and fan for inside your tent please check out the Guest Portal where you can reserve one for your stay or request one directly when you arrive. This generator allows you to run a fan to keep cool, power beside lamps and to charge your devices inside your tent. $20 for a generator for the duration of your stay. The weather at The Haven at Hawi Nani is generally fair and tropical from April to October. Our rainy season is typically from November to March. Temperatures normally range between 65-85F. As with normal camping tents, it does get warm inside the tents during the day. The outer layer of canvas can be unzipped to allow greater airflow, please zip this layer back up when you leave. We get rain regularly which makes the land lush and green. Kohala is know for its wind. We are located between the Kohala Mountain and Maui across the Alenuihaha channel so we get quite a bit of wind, be prepared for some gusts that can reach up to 50 mph Stay in North Kohala, the northern tip of the Big Island of Hawaii, and sleep in peace away from the hustle and bustle of the resorts and towns. North Kohala is a small community of quaint cottages, mom and pop restaurants, fun locally made wares and plenty of adventure. If you’re looking for even more things to do, the Haven is only a 25 minute drive from anything you could want. Scenic drives over the Kohala Mountain Road will take you to the charming ranch town of Kamuela (also known as Waimea). This ranching town has Farmers Markets, local coffee shops, antiques, shopping, horse back riding, rodeo and some of the best restaurants on the island. Leaving Hawi and heading down the Kohala Coast will take you to luxury resorts, shopping, award winning restaurants, white sand beaches, snorkeling, helicopter rides, deep sea fishing, surfing, paddling; the list goes on and on! So come relax at the Haven at Hawi Nani and use it as your home base to explore everything the Big Island has to offer.
