A long winding driveway leads you to our very private home which backs up to the most spectacular lava field. Our home is surrounded by gorgeous, lush native Hawaiian rain forest, flowers, fruit trees, birds and imminent view of a recent phenomenon - Fissure 8.This was the most destructive fissure from the 2018 Lava flow and contains geothermal heated pockets on the island. Other things to note The lava eruption of 2018 in Leilani Estates Hawaii has left behind a spectacular landscape of some of the world's newest Earth and our home incredibly survived only by 100 feet. Spend the night in our Lava House, the closest house to Fissure 8. Then wake up to the still hot and steaming lava field and enjoy the spectacular sunrise. You will experience the sound of nature with the rustles of tree leaves, the songs of tropical birds during the day and coqui frogs at night. Enjoy breath-taking alpenglow by sunset, where clouds are almost touching the Fissure 8. And then, view the never-ending night sky. Just sit comfortably in the chair on our covered patio with glass of wine or your favorite drink and relax by listening to ambient music and set your tone for your time spending here. Enjoy this romantic place on the Earth. Paradise awaits! You will have your own private space but still have a caretaker on site if you need anything. Adventure to Rainbow Falls, explore the alien terrain of Lava Tree State Monument, or pick up some fresh local products from the Kalapana Farmer's Market! Shopping & restaurants are located 10 minutes away in historic Pahoa town. Near the local Roman Catholic Church is the memorial statue of Father Damien who established first churches here in 1865 and lived on Big Island for 9 years before Molokai.
