Happy Yellow House, Walk to Ridgevale Beach!

Easy family and pet-friendly vacation in a beautiful, bright, lovingly-cared for, 4-bedroom beach home! Everything you need for a perfect Cape Escape. Take the wagon for a stroll to stunning views from Ridgevale Beach: cross the pedestrian bridge to the protected tidal pool swim area, or walk past the dunes to swim in Nantucket Sound. Only a short drive to downtown Chatham's shops and close to the bike trail, Marion's Pie Shop, and playground. Looks and feels like your home for your stay! The space First Floor The first floor, all hardwood flooring, features an open floor plan for easy socialization and indoor dining at the island counter or the dining table. Plenty of games and seating in the living room, and a more private TV room with a comfortable leather couch is on the other side of the staircase. There is a half-bath on the first floor, and a first-floor bedroom with a twin daybed and trundle. Use this room for some privacy to relax, read, or sleep an additional two guests! Upstairs Escape upstairs to the peaceful en-suite primary bedroom with a walk-in closet, private full bathroom and bright sitting area. Two other bedrooms upstairs feature a double bed and raised twin bunk (in the “whale room”) and two twins (in the sunny “front room”). A pretty desk area with a working printer overlooks the stairs for a home office setup. There is also a 3/4 bath upstairs off the hallway. Amenities include central AC (on the second floor only) a dishwasher, washer/dryer, cable TV, high-speed Internet, a BBQ grill, and an outdoor shower. Outside Our private yard is blocked from the street by a gated fence, leaving a side yard for play. The back yard itself has a seasonally-prepared (May-September) sitting area with 2 cushioned swing seats, a Solo Stove for toasting marshmallows or enjoying the ambiance in the salty evening air, a grill and full umbrella over a table seating 6. Take an outdoor shower after a day at the beach, and play pick-up sports games in the level back yard. The Area This is an immensely safe, friendly, and walkable neighborhood full of charming houses and gardens, and a protected cul-de-sac feel given the way the quiet side-streets loop around. Wild rabbits live on the land adjacent to our property. Ridgevale Beach, a family-friendly favorite, is a walkable half-mile away. Take the wagon down, cross the walking bridge to the protected tidal pool swim area, or walk past the dunes to swim in Nantucket Sound. There is also a snack bar and beach rentals and lessons at the parking lot. Great freshwater kettle ponds (Schoolhouse Pond and Goose Pond) are just a short drive away, and the bike path is less than a mile away. Bike or walk along it to the bikers’ entrance of Short n Sweet Ice Cream, or use the path to access local parks, playground and beaches all the way into town, or go further afield with its connection to other towns along the Cape! Head up Main Street to visit Chatham’s famous shops and restaurants. While we are walkable to Ridgevale Beach, Hardings Beach, Forest Beach, and Cockle Cove Beach are also close by. Included Beach towels for 6 are always included. A pull-along beach wagon, a chair wheelie, boogie boards, sand toys, and a beach umbrella are also all available (stored in the basement) to make your vacation easier. A baby cot Pack-and-Play can be left for those with young ones upon request. Puzzles, toys, and games for all ages are available for family fun! Pet friendly! We have an optional 2' fence to enclose the patio stored on-site, and tie-outs and dog water bowls. There is also a page in the manual with ideas on great places to bring dogs (even off-leash!) The upstairs has central AC (builders only installed it there before our time) and the downstairs has ceiling fans and a box fan. The linen closet has a first aid kit, nightlights, and handy back-up items. Staying in this Happy Yellow House will be the easiest vacation you have ever had! Noteworthy Details Here's a note we received from renters last summer, upon their arrival: "We are all settled and unpacked. What a beautiful home. The pictures online show a very nice house. However, it is much nicer than the pictures! We will take good care of your lovely home!" We think it is even nicer than the photos too, and hope you consider this house as perfect for your family vacation as we and others have found it! An interesting tidbit about Chatham: Filming for the Netflix MiniSeries "The Perfect Couple" starring Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber, Meghann Fahy, Dakota Fanning, Eve Hewson and Jack Reynor took place in our beachside town! Guest access The entire house! The washer and dryer are in the basement, which does have a gated area for Owner Storage and two of the closets are locked to contain owner items. Entry is contact-less, via a lockbox code given before check-in.
