Occupying the entire third floor of The Sanctuary, this private retreat offers approximately 450 square feet with a queen bed, sitting area, workspace, two windows, and three skylights. The space feels a bit like an artist's loft tucked beneath the roofline of a historic home. Bright, quiet, and surprisingly spacious, it's ideal for traveling professionals, creatives, and anyone seeking a peaceful place to recharge after a busy day. The space The Sanctuary is a thoughtfully shared, owner-occupied historic home where guests enjoy the rare balance of privacy, independence, and community. Original hardwood floors, curated artwork, a fully equipped kitchen, front porch, fire pit, gym equipment, and jacuzzi tub create a stay that feels more like staying with friends than renting a room. Many former residents stay in touch long after moving on, and some even return years later to visit. Guest access Guests access the home through a keypad entry system. Before arrival, each guest chooses a unique access code that remains active for the duration of their stay. Off-street parking is available on the property. The home is shared with a small number of respectful adults who value cleanliness, communication, and a positive atmosphere. While everyone leads independent lives, guests are welcome to mingle and enjoy the home's common spaces and outdoor areas throughout their stay. During your stay As the owner and resident, I'm usually available if you need anything, but I also respect guests' privacy and independence. I'll happily answer questions, offer local recommendations, or help with anything related to the house. Beyond that, interaction is entirely up to you. Some guests enjoy chatting over coffee, while others prefer to keep to themselves. Both are perfectly welcome here. Other things to note The Sanctuary is best suited for guests who appreciate a calm, clean, and respectful environment. While a housekeeper visits every other week, everyone takes pride in cleaning up after themselves and caring for the shared spaces. You may cross paths with other guests during your stay. We also have friendly indoor-only cats, Genesis and Clea, who serve as our welcome committee and semi-official house mascots. We're a shoe-free home, so feel free to bring slippers or your favorite cozy socks.
