A True Historical Experience awaits you! Built @ 1739, this cozy, renovated 2 bdrm home features exposed beams with wooden pegs, wide pine floors and a narrow staircase. You will feel you have traveled back to the 1700's, but with all modern conveniences of today. A block from the Boston Ferry & the House of 7 Gables, you can walk to all Salem has to offer from this Prime Location! WE ONLY BOOK 6 MONTHS OUT FROM TODAY RATES FLUCTUATE SEASONLY ***PLEASE NOTE: The antique staircase is steep and narrow. It is not suitable for people with disabilities. **Also being an old house, the ceiling height to the beams is about 6'5" This completely renovated two story cottage has 4 rooms. It features original wide "pumpkin" pine floor boards, exposed beams and a narrow staircase, yet has all the modern amenities. The living room, eat in kitchen, 1/2 bath and laundry with washer and dryer are on the first floor. There is also a single size sofa bed on the first floor in the living room. On the second floor are the master bedroom with a queen bed and the second bedroom with two twin beds plus a full bath. The brand new kitchen has a stainless steel stove, full sized refrigerator, and dishwasher. The house is fully air conditioned. There is a 42" flat screen TV, with cable and wifi. All bed linens and towels are provided as well as all cooking and eating utensils, coffee, tea, cream, sugar, salt and pepper There are two+ parking spaces. You will have access to the complete house and yard and patio. Consider it your home away from home. After check in, there will be no interaction, unless the guests request it, or the neighbors complain. This home couldn't be better situated for exploring Salem. Located steps from the House of Seven Gables and the wharf area this quiet, charming, residential area is comprised of antique houses built in the 1700 and 1800's. You can literally walk to all of Salem's major sites or jump on the site seeing trolley 1/2 block away. There are also numerous restaurants within walking distance. The home is also within walking distance of the Boston Ferry that runs from May through October. Salem is not just about Halloween, there many things to do and see, all year long. Arriving from Boston Logan Airport: Besides renting a car and fighting the traffic, there are several options for getting to Salem. 1. Take the MBTA from the airport to the Wonderland Station in Revere and hire Lyft/Uber or a taxi from there. 2. Take the MBTA from the airport to North Station to get the train to Salem Depot. However you have to switch trains at Government Center. The house is .8 miles or 15-20 minute walk from Salem Depot. 3. The Boston to Salem Fast Ferry lets you off 2 blocks from the house. It runs from May through October. Check the Internet for schedule and prices. Around Town: You can literally walk to all the major sites in Salem from this home. The train from Boston also goes to Rockport, Gloucester and Newburyport from Salem. There is also a site seeing trolley that brings you to all the major attractions that has a stop a block away. Salem is an ideal location from which to explore many of the surrounding areas such as Boston, Cambridge, Lexington and Concord, Marblehead, Gloucester, Rockport, and Newburyport Mass. In addition, it is accessible for a day trip to southern New Hampshire and southern Maine, as well as Plymouth Plantation which is south of Boston, and Providence RI which is about an hour and a half away. It is not that convenient to drive to Cape Cod for the day, however there is a daily, seasonal ferry that runs from Boston to Provincetown, Cape Cod.
