Enjoy Kauai's simple pleasures and grand landscapes right from home. This is a private, stand alone villa located in the community of Princeville. E Komo Mai (Welcome, come in)! The villa is a traditional Hawaiian-style, two-story design with 1,365 sq ft of living space, and comfortably accommodates up to five guests. To the South, the view looks over a lush green valley toward the rugged interior mountains with cascading waterfalls, shifting sunlight, and brilliant rainbows. To the North, the home opens to the shimmering blue Pacific. The scenic cliff overlook is a great place to take in sunset and to whale watch. These natural surroundings provide a dramatic backdrop to your island retreat. Some of the most beautiful scenery on the island is right at home. The open living space, covered lanai, beach closet, and half bath are on the upper/entry level. The lower level of the home has three bedrooms; a queen Tempur-Pedic mattress on platform bed in primary bedroom, a king bed in 2nd bedroom, and a twin bed in office/study serving as a 3rd bedroom. Also downstairs are two full baths, covered lanai and a laundry area with full size washer/dryer. The villa sits atop an ocean bluff allowing the trade winds to flow through keeping the home fresh, bright, and comfortable. There are numerous louvered windows throughout, sliding glass doors, ceiling fans, and several area fans. The primary and second bedrooms have A/C units for additional sleeping comfort if desired. The home is equipped with free WiFi; Internet Ultra Speeds up to 300 Mbps will accommodate a family of moderate internet users or a couple of high-demand users working remotely. Consider the home your own private paradise! Seven days prior to your arrival, you will be given a key code for self check-in and check-out. As our guest you will have access to all of the home's amenities including beach towels, snorkel gear, boogie boards, beach chairs, cooler bags and sun umbrellas, so no need to rent or pack these items. We spend as much time here as possible and have furnished and stocked the villa to serve as our home away from home, and we want our guests to kick back, relax, and fully enjoy the home just as we do when on island. We live on the mainland and are, of course, available anytime by phone, text, or email. We manage the home ourselves; our friendly, unobtrusive caretaker resides nearby, readily available should anything need attention during your stay. There are three golden sand beaches within close walking distance. As with all Princeville beaches, you will need to hike down 200 feet from the bluff to reach the shore. Pu'u Poa Beach, on the eastern shore of Hanalei Bay, is beautiful sandy beach within walking distance of the villa. It can be accessed by an outdoor staircase. A short and very steep foot trail with makeshift ropes and railings leads to Kenomene Beach which is ideal for basking on the warm golden sands or resting under the large shade trees. Kenomene Beach, better known as "Hideaways", is a 300' stretch of sand divided by a rock outcropping and offers great snorkeling and incredible coastal views. Within Princeville you will find other gems such as Queen’s Bath (only to be visited May-Sep), Sea Lodge Beach, Wyllie Beach, Princeville Ranch Stables and Princeville Botanical Gardens. There is the scenic 18 hole Maka'i golf course and the Mauka professional disc golf course. Community park, playground, tennis, pickle ball and basketball courts, 2.1 mile walk/jog path and FitLot. The Princeville Center just two miles away offers full service restaurants, casual courtyard cafes, a grocery store, sandwich shop, fine wine market, convenience store, gas station, ATM machine, specialty boutiques and art galleries. Free assigned, off street parking available for up to two vehicles. Princeville, located between Hanalei (4 miles W) and Kilauea (7 miles S), is central to all North Shore attractions and activities. Truly, all are within twelve scenic miles of the villa; including the quaint town of Hanalei and the Hanalei beach park, NaPali coast trail-head, Limahuli - National Tropical Botanical Gardens, Kilauea lighthouse, 'anini beach, Tunnels beach, Ke'e beach, and many more sandy beaches and hiking trails to explore. The Lihue (LIH) airport is a 45-55 minute drive from Princeville, and it is a good day trip around the island to visit the south and west shores. The home will be professionally cleaned and sanitized prior to arrival. The full kitchen allows you to prepare meals at home. Foodland is located in the Princeville Center. Hydro flasks and filtered water are provided so no need to purchase bottled water. Princeville is a county approved Visitor Destination Area. Our privately owned home is Owner Managed along with an on-island caretaker. This is a registered Vacation Rental with the Princeville Community Association, and in compliance with State of Hawaii Department of Taxation. The State of Hawai’i charges a 10.25% Transient Accommodation Tax along with a 4.5% General Excise Tax. Kauai County charges an additional 3% TAT.
