From the parking area, walk up about 10 steps to its private deck with water views and enter the cathedral-ceilinged cottage. In its history, the cottage was the blacksmith's shed where the oxen, working the nearby granite quarries, were shod. Vestiges can be seen throughout the house and in the courtyard once the floor of the oxen barn. The open-plan living room/dining room/kitchen has high ceilings and a skylight along with air conditioning.
