Each room has a queen-sized bed. (The extra charge after the second guest is to cover the use of the additional bedrooms--if two of you need a room each, just let me know). There is a connecting door between two of the bedrooms which can be locked when/if you wish. The rooms have wireless Internet and comfortable armchairs by the windows, and the main room has a desk for any work you may wish to do. If you prefer, however, you can use the study downstairs, which is fully stocked with paper, envelopes and a wireless printer. Nobody will disturb you while you're there. Our home is large and quiet, and for the duration of your stay it is your home from home, too. Feel free to come and go as you please. It is very cozy during the winter months. Your bedrooms are air-conditioned in summer. Free street parking during the day. Parking overnight in the driveway. Kitchen available for making tea or coffee, or to sit and share a meal. Storage available for your food in the pantry and refrigerator. When the weather is fine, feel free to sit out on the deck with your coffee. There's a bistro table there and two chairs with fat cushions. Please feel free to ask us about shopping, restaurants, things to do, etc--we have lived here a long time, so we should be able to answer any of your questions. Westborough is the quintessential small New England town, with its white churches and Colonial houses. We live downtown, so you are literally a 5-10 minute walk from everything you need. The town center has a lot of specialty stores, great cafés and restaurants: sushi (our favorite), American, Thai, Chinese, Indian, Korean, Italian. A short drive away are many amenities to suit all tastes and interests, e.g. skiing and ice fishing in winter; state park with walks, picnic areas and swimming in summer. The rest of the year, there are woods and hiking trails, as well as the Tower Hill and Garden-in-the-Woods botanical gardens. For those of you who like to shop, the upscale Natick Mall and the Wrentham Outlets are a 20-minute trip (in different directions however!) Westborough lies on the intersections of Route I-90 (the Mass Pike), Route I-495 and Route 9. The town provides the perfect rest spot on your travels. We’re 50 minutes from Boston, and/or Logan Airport, although that time will increase during rush hour. Our house lies 5 minutes' drive from Tufts Veterinary Medical School and 30 minutes from the College of the Holy Cross, Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), Clark University, Worcester State University, Becker College, Assumption College, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS). We also live within 30 minutes’ drive of the DCU Center and the Hannover Theater in Worcester. About 45 minutes away are the Comcast Center in Mansfield, and the Tournament Players Golf Club in Norton, home to the annual PGA tournament. The Whittier Rehabilitation Center is a 10-minute drive from our house. Ten minutes in the opposite direction will get you to the starting line for the Boston Marathon in Hopkinton. The Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel and Trade Center is 16 minutes' drive to the north. If you don't have a car, you can get here by taking the Boston-Framingham/Worcester commuter rail which stops at Westborough, among other towns. The trains run throughout the day till midnight. The new station, however, lies on the edge of town, which may be a problem for travelers with a lot of luggage. I have been able to pick up/drop off guests in the past; however you will have to let me know ahead of time, so that I can arrange my own schedule accordingly. No midnight runs, please!! If you wish to make a day-trip into Boston, I can direct you to a downtown parking garage that costs $28 for the day, or $18 during weekends. (This is important.) It's easy, when looking at Westborough on a map, to think that my house is only a short drive from Boston or Cape Cod, when in actual fact, it may take over an hour in rush-hour traffic to reach Boston, and up to two hours depending on where you want to go on the Cape. I make this point because some of my guests in the past have chosen me for my low prices and good reviews but then were surprised with the distances they had to travel. So give your itinerary some thought and check that my house is the best place for you to stay. My location is the only star-rated quality that I have absolutely no control over!
