Built around 1820, the blue house on the bend has been updated and outfitted for modern day convenience but retains it's charm and unique appeal. Enjoy hypnotic views of the river and wildlife from the comfortable living area, breakfast area, master bedroom or outside terrace area. The open floor plan and lovely views make this historic mill worker house seem much larger than its 1100 sq. ft. The three-season sun porch adds more room for relaxing, eating and even sleeping! Brand new, well equipped kitchen with full size appliances will make preparing meals and entertaining easy. Many dining area options available including main room, sun porch and al fresco on the river’s edge. Downstairs master bedroom with new (2019) king bed and bay window overlooking the river makes for a great night sleep. Bed can be configured into two twins, if requested in advance. New downstairs bathroom includes a tiled tub /shower combination. Up a short flight of stairs (10 steps, somewhat steep), two charming bedrooms await, one with a new (2019) queen and one with a twin size bed. These rooms share a new full size bath with a tiled shower. Full laundry facilities available in basement; off street parking for 2-4 cars. This is NOT an accessible property. There are 2-3 stairs to get into the house (handrail only at front door) and steep stairs going upstairs to two bedrooms and bathroom with shower. Also stairs going into the cellar for laundry facilities. You will have total full access to this private, single family home located on quiet street. House is located on a quiet , non-through street with only 7 neighboring houses. Adding to the historic Berkshire charm, hopefully you will be treated to the occasional train chugging by. Be sure and wave to the engineer! Located in the heart of the Berkshires; the Appalachian trail, Tanglewood, Shakespeare and Company, Norman Rockwell museum, Chesterwood, summer stock theater, music and dance are all just minutes away. Easy access to Butternut Ski – 7 miles and Catamount – 14 miles. Foodies can enjoy the neighborhood options including Pleasant and Main, Extra Special Teas and the fabulous Berkshire Mountain Bakery with delicious french pastries, bread and take away pizzas for easy meals. Taft Organic Farms is a short drive for local products and produce. Off street parking for up to 4 cars; there is some public transportation available, but having a car is the best way to get around.
