Want to escape to a Log Cabin in the woods steps from the Appalachian trail and one block from Greenwood Lake? This meticulously renovated rustic log cabin will give everyone a chance to relax, enjoy nature, and explore. This area offers boating, skiing, paddle boarding, kayaking, family activities, hiking, vineyards, drive-in movie theater, cidery, ice cream dairy farm and more. This 1930's log cabin with 2 bedrooms and a loft, is nestled on a wooded lot in a quite community. Lic no 2022-018 Fully renovated 1930's cabin with a nod to rustic and vintage. It is decorated meticulously with large log beams, tin walls, stained glass accents, wine barrel vanity, and garage sale copper bowl converted to a sink. No detail is overlooked. The outside boasts a large patio/deck with gas grill, dining table, hammock, and fire pit. You enter the house into a quaint sunroom. From the sunroom you access the great room which has the kitchen with dine at peninsula, and living room with couch and love seat. The master bedroom has a queen size bed and closet for your personal use. The guest bedroom has a single trundle bed. The trundle bed pulls out for extra sleeping space to fill the room. The upstairs loft is spacious and has 2 single beds. The loft ladder is steep and it is open to the great room below, so it is not recommended for young children. During the Spring/Summer/Fall there is a small fairy trail all on the property to stroll and enjoy. As the owners we are available anytime via email or cell phone to assist with any of your needs. We are also willing to give you any guidance or recommendations you desire on local attractions, activities and eateries. The cabin is located one block from Greenwood lake. Lake access is available a short drive away at the public beach and park access. This cabin is in a small community of 1930s log cabins, once all camping lodges, they have been converted into full time residences. Strolling the area you can see the interesting architecture, from some of the original log cabins, to modern updated live edge siding, to some you would never guess that are still log framed underneath. A short walk down the street gives you access to multiple hiking paths, some leading to the Appalachian trail. You can also take a 2 minute car ride to the parking access at the state line for the Appalachian trail. Some of the trails are more difficult, but the views of the lake and mountains are spectacular. We are also located just minutes from Mt Peter Ski area, the Annual Renaissance Fair, the annual Applefest, the Drive in movie theater, Wawayanda State Park, and downtown Warwick which offers multiple shops, eateries, breweries, and wineries. Then there is Greenwood Lake where you will find water front dining, boat rentals, aquatic excursions, a water obstacle course, stand up paddle board rentals, paddle board yoga, kayak rentals, public beaches, public parks, pirate ship rentals, jet board rentals, and even fly board rentals. Finally within 30 minutes there is Woodbury Common Premium Outlets, Crystal Springs Resort Golfing and Spa, and multiple state parks with hiking trails. All this only 1 hour from NYC! The bus to NYC does stop at the entrance to the development (400 yards from cabin). Being that the house is nestled along the mountainside along Greenwood Lake, there is a steep walk uphill from the bus stop. It can be done, and I have done it pushing a stroller in flip flops, but it is not recommended. (Fun Fact: The road was actually a ski slope once upon a time, and the original pulley system for the tow rope can be seen up in one of the trees along the road.) In the winter, there is a slightly less steep block, one block back, so 4 wheel drive cars are not necessary. If you really want to walk it from the bus stop, you may want to try the less steep block which is a longer more gradual incline, but it does make the walk a little longer (525 yards) Guests are able to use all amenities of the house such as but not limited to ships ladder to loft, grill, and fire pit, but they must do so at their own risk and are liable for any possible damages!!
