Description

Welcome to the 'ur-burbs'~~! We are restarting our AirBnB rental post-Covid and looking forward to welcoming you to Boston. This single family Victorian is located in West Roxbury, the furthest neighborhood in Boston, in a very family friendly and super community atmosphere. The house was built in 1880 and maintains original hardwood and period details throughout with a near-total renovation in 2023/24! The space Welcome to our historic Victorian house! My family would love for your family to come and experience what it is like to live in the 'ur-burbs' - or the urban suburbs during the 2025 Summer/Fall. We are located in West Roxbury, which is the furthest neighborhood within Boston and is filled with public servants, baseball games and local festivals. We truly love it here and Summer/Fall is the best time to visit New England!! This house was built in 1880 and maintains all original hardwood and a beautifully restored stained glass window. You can have fun trying to find the house on our antique map of the area, located in the foyer:) Do you want to take your family on a vacation and not keen on squeezing into a 400 sf hotel room? Not quite sure you want to make the move from the city to the burbs? Come try our house out!! Amazing family-oriented neighborhood next to a park/playground, Starbucks and tons of eating options! Boston has so much to offer in the Summer/Fall! As the grass starts to grow Boston's parks put on an unforgettable show of color and fun - all against a historic backdrop. A walk along the city's Freedom Trail can double as a foliage tour. It's a great time to visit Boston's Faneuil Hall Marketplace, as the crowds are festive and lots of street performers come out. On a cooler day, take a stroll through the gorgeous indoor courtyard of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum of the Museum of Fine Art. For sports fans, the Red Sox open their bats in April and their return to Fenway. - no better way to experience Boston than a trip to the ballpark! A trip north of Boston to Kittery, Maine, will make for a fun New England outing (stop in Portsmouth for lunch!) - and provide plenty of great shopping opportunities at the Kittery Outlets. The Cape in the Spring/Fall is made for lazy beach fun. There are so many things to do, and when you include the surrounding areas of Boston, its amazing! This Victorian house in the Bellevue Hill neighborhood, built in 1880, features all original woodwork and a hand carved staircase. 7500 square foot lot, which can lead to lots of happy BBQs for you! ***Huge 2023 Renovation - complete with Kemper Cabinets, Jenn-Air Professional appliances, white quartz countertops and an Italian marble master bath. We also replaced all the windows with Anderson windows*** Included in the price is weekly professional yard workers. Our backyard has a patio, grill and a firepit (gas) for lots of family fun:) I would like to make and potential renters aware that this listing is our home, it is not a second property or investment property - so it isn't *that* kind of rental. We have stayed at lots of vacation rentals ourselves, so just wanted to let you all know that. Its is a huge, beautiful, historic house which we love:) Please take extra care not to damage the hardwood floors and staircase:). Also, if requesting an extended stay we require a house cleaning by Two Maids of Newton every 30 days for which we charge $300 (which is half what they charge us!). Summer/Fall in Boston can either be warm and in the 80s or freezing and in the 30s. If it is cold, we will make our best attempt to keep the house heated to functional degree (around 75ish) but keep in mind these old Victorian homes are super porous and heat just leaks out (which is why we do not rent it in winter). We live here in the deep winter and are very happy but want all you awesome potential renters to know its not the type of property which is tightly squared away. Also, although we have an original fireplace, it is truly original and therefore not functional:). Likewise, this house does not have central air so the third floor can be extremely hot during a heat wave in the summer. We are extensive travelers and know that the best Airbnb experinces happen when the right renters choose the right house - Please let me know if you have any questions at all - we want you to have a great time visiting this amazing city! We only offer this rental for those looking for 30+ day stays. City of Boston Rental Registration Number is RENT - 523308. Guest access You can access the entire space except the middle room on the 3rd floor. Registration details STR-397962
