This 1860s townhouse is located right in the heart of historic Boston. Wander onto a cobble-stoned street described by the Boston Herald as "... out of a Sherlock Holmes story." Bay Village's gas lantern-lit neighborhood was known to Paul Revere as South Cove. Edgar Allen Poe was born here. We're just steps from Back Bay, Chinatown, Theater District, South End, Boston Public Gardens, and Boston Commons. Massachusetts Room Occupancy Excise Registration Certificate Number: C0031650351 The space The large apartment has 3 furnished bedrooms (2 queen beds, 1 double bed, 1 twin bed), a small office, and 1.5 bathrooms. It has a full kitchen with most everything you'd need to prepare a feast. Don't like to cook? Your in a major foodie town with a lmost any cuisine you want to try available. The apartment has many historic features like exposed wood beam ceilings, fireplaces, open plank flooring in the living room and other unique details. We provide games and toys for the very young to adults. There are books for deep and light reads for morning coffee on an oversized couch. Note: The bedroom with the double and twin beds has no door, but it is the only room on the basement level. Also, this room has only one small window for natural light. No one is to use the living room couches as beds. Guest access This unit is an entire apartment in a two-family townhouse with a shared hallway entrance. We ask that you do not enter the utility rooms in the basement or use the second-level door labelled "Emergency Exit Only" - except, of course, in an emergency. Other things to note Bring very comfortable walking shoes! Boston is a premier walking city! The living room, dining room, kitchen, and office are on the entry level, and the bedrooms are downstairs. The stairway to the bedrooms is old, narrow, and steep. The steps into the home are very steep. Our historic unit is not recommended for people with mobility challenges. Central air conditioning is not possible in this old space, however we have an air conditioner in the living/dining room and in each of the two upper bedrooms. The basement bedroom does not have an air conditioner, but it is underground and generally stays cool. Parking is available at several parking garages, several within about a 5 minute walk Starting in 2024, multiple guests started checking out late and trying to enter the unit early without permission. Therefore, late check outs or early check-ins, unless previously arranged and approved 24 hours in advance, will be fined $50 for 5-15 minutes, then $100 for each 15 minute interval.
