Phenomenal get away from NYC, Philly; a tranquil and unique farm property built in 1841 on 5 acres directly on the Delaware River featuring an in-ground pool, fruit trees, vegetable garden, pond and dozens of flowering perennials. Kayaking, biking, hiking, 2 vineyards within minutes, and wonderful farms, markets and towns close by. Inside enjoy 2 fireplaces, central air, jacuzzi tub and state of the art kitchen. Perfect for friends or family and easy access from the city. The property, farmhouse, and outbuildings are listed as both National Historic and New Jersey landmarks. The beautifully renovated 1840s farmhouse has 4 bedrooms with a king, 2 queens, and double bed. There are 2 queen-sized inflatable quality mattresses for additional guests. Eight sleep very comfortably, but with inflatables can accommodate up to 12. Two fireplaces for coziness in the living/dining room in colder months, and 3 sets of French Doors throughout the house provide light and air in warmer months; the kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances including 1 oven, 1 combo microwave/oven, steamer oven, electric stove top, warming drawer, dishwasher, wine fridge and wet bar. Outdoors you have both a kettle Weber grill as well as a Yoder smoker. Two full bathrooms upstairs, one with hallway access, and one half bath downstairs. Guests are encouraged to wander this expansive, idyllic natural setting. However, PLEASE take caution when exploring the fenced off horse paddocks as these areas still hold some hidden treasures of the past: large pieces of wood, rusted metal objects, etc. The rare and magnificent, stately barn and wood-working shed are to be enjoyed with your eyes and minds from outside their old, creaky doors. The interiors are off limits. Their only function now is to serve as props of antiquity on nature's stage. But you are welcomed to walk around them, touch the time-worn wood, smell the age, listen to the wind whistling through their cracks. This is what you're here for. If there are any questions during your stay please call co-host, Emily. Quiet, rural community. Directly over the river, minutes away, is the Riegelsville Inn, great food, live music, active bar. Alba and Milagros vineyards are minutes away as well, and there are plenty of antique stores, art galleries and restaurants in charming small towns on both the NJ and PA sides of the river. Approximately 15 minutes from Frenchtown, and 40 minutes from Lambertville and New Hope. If you have guests coming they can take the Transbridge bus line to Frenchtown. There is also a bus from NYC to Philipsburg. The New Jersey Transit Line will take you to its last stop at High Bridge Station from NYC. From there the property is about a $30 Uber ride.
