The Poet's Inn is an 1879 Victorian Second Empire whole house rental on Historic Jackson Street in America's oldest seashore resort, Cape May, NJ. This 3 story, 7 bedroom home comfortably accommodates 20 people, and is nestled between Jackson Street beach and the Washington Street pedestrian mall in the heart of Cape May. This Victorian gem boasts a wrap around front porch, third floor deck, private backyard with patio, mini-putting green, outdoor ping-pong, and plenty of off street parking! The space The newly renovated Poet's Inn at 35 Jackson has restored the home to its original splendor and welcomes guests to relax and socialize in both the comfortable first floor living room or the adjacent sitting room. The spacious dining room and updated, fully equipped kitchen invites up to 20 guests to share memories and meals together. The new HVAC system with individually controlled bedroom thermostats keeps the house comfortable during all seasons. There are 7 bedrooms (one on the first floor, 5 en-suite, and 3 with televisions) and six bathrooms equipped with showers (two of which also include full bathtubs). The private, fenced in backyard includes a patio, grill, 2 outdoor showers, a mini-putting green and a ping pong table (clubs, balls and paddles provided). There is a large private driveway for on-site parking (a luxury in Cape May!) The amenities at the Poet's Inn at 35 Jackson ensure a care free, comfortable stay in the heart of Cape May. Guest access Guests have access to the entire house, front porch, rooftop deck, the private backyard and patio, and ample dedicated, onsite parking. No areas are shared with other guests. Other things to note As with most Cape May rentals, we do NOT provide linens (sheets and towels). Please remember to bring or rent your own linens. The Poet's Inn is rented weekly during the summer season, with check-in on Saturday afternoons 3 PM or later, and check-out by the following Saturday morning by 10 AM. This is to allow time for the cleaning crew to prepare the house properly for each guest. This is a no smoking/vaping property (inside and out), and no pets are allowed. Cleaning Guidelines: The Poet's Inn will be cleaning before check-in according to the guidelines set up by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and will include implementing extra cleaning protocols. - All products used are CDC approved cleaning/disinfecting products. Specifically: Concentrated Spic and Span disinfecting all-purpose spray (EPA Reg. NO. 3573-96), Comet disinfecting cleaner with bleach (EPA Reg. 3573-77), Soft Scrub cleanser with bleach (EPA Reg.64240 - 44 - 93222. - The cleaning company will be taking a 2-step clean approach – cleaning first, then disinfecting. All visible dirt will be removed and cleaned from surfaces. Then we will disinfect according to manufacturer and CDC directions. - High-touch surfaces will be given extra attention. Examples of high-touch surfaces include tables, hard-backed chairs, doorknobs, handrails, light switches, remotes, wardrobe and cabinet handles, desks, toilets, sinks, bedside tables, and kitchen and bathroom surfaces.
