The building was constructed in the early 1800s and was many different things including a large newspaper manufacturing plant, and the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundations' original headquarters. We have completely remodeled the building and while doing so we preserved as much of its historical value as possible. This makes the Alexandre special and we hope you enjoy the work that was completed to preserve the space. With all the historical buildings in city centers, we want you to be aware of some items that need more tender loving care. The windows, front door, and brick walls in your unit are original. The brick has been painted so there is minimal brick dust that will fall but please be aware if the walls are touched there may be some dust. The windows are sealed shut but as with all old windows, you may hear some outside street noise coming through.
