There is no heat of any kind in the cottage. It can be rented into the fall, but understand that the nights will be chilly and blankets will be needed. If you are the camping type, fall nights in this cottage are great! Outside, a dock and lake-front yard provide a great place to lounge in the sun or shade, and steps into the lake allow guests to wade or swim in shallow water by the shore, or easily go out deeper. Well behaved family dogs are welcome! Please take your trash with you at the end of the stay. Guest access Guests have access to the ENTIRE house, and the front and back yards. The lake is in your front yard just a 10 steps from the cottage and you have full access to swimming, fishing, boating. We welcome you to bring your own kayaks or canoes to use in addition to the two adult and one junior size kayak available for you. Please note that we do not have a boat launch, so while you could dock a fishing, pontoon, or ski boat at our dock, you would need to use a public boat launch on the other side of the lake. Other things to note -- The running water in the cottage is water from the spring-fed lake. Guests should bring their own bottled water for drinking and cooking. -- There is no heat in the cottage. On chilly nights, guests may need an extra blanket or two. And because there is no heat, the cottage is not available from October through April. -- All mattresses and pillows have hypoallergenic zippered covers. Guests need to bring their own bed linens (sheets, pillowcases, and towels) - there are comforters on each bed and some blankets available. -- New flooring was installed in much of the cottage in June, 2020. Other small cosmetic updates were done at the same time. We have a new television and gas grill. Future updates include replacing an older wood panel and updating doors and windows. --Please take your trash with you at the end of the stay. It is a carry in and carry out cottage as there is not trash pickup provided by the town. Thank you!
