If you let me know you may need the house for longer when booking the first 30 days, I can leave the month following or add extra days to your monthly stay following blocked for you if you are enjoying your stay. Just want you to be happy and not locked in something that you do not like. This is a parish ordinance the home has to rented for at least 30 days. During your stay, if YOU would like the cleaning service to come in, send me a message, and I can see when they are available. It is additional 200 dollars. It has a covered patio in front of the house with fans and a place for the small ones & you to escape the heat and be outside. The backyard has string lights and 3 umbrellas and fans. Wonderful to sit outside and admire the greenery in fall and winter, and in spring and summer enjoy the many flowers. The backyard is fenced in and has a gas fire pit and Weber gas grill. The home is a perfect place to explore New Orleans food and music or WORK from home. Top off the day exploring the great food and music of the city, and watch one of the 4 televisions. No cable television but use the Paramount+ app for local news. Also have Netflix, Amazon, HBO GO, and . It does not have ESPN or sports channels. Paramount premium. The home is a 10 minute drive to shopping, dinning, Palace Movie Theater, and workout gyms. No need to worry if you forgot something. Do a search for, Elmwood Shopping Center, for a list of all the stores and restaurants, too many to list. Walgreens and two grocery stores within 3 blocks of the home. Enjoying the many close restaurants or using the waiter app for delivery is definitely a plus. However, if you would like to cook or barbecue the kitchen is stocked with lots of different spices. I also include dish soap, paper towels, toilet paper,trash bags, laundry detergent, body soap, shampoo and conditioner for the first couple of days. Traveling with children of all ages, they will love the park which is an easy two block walk from the house. At the home, the kids can run around and play with the toys in the fenced backyard or watch movies on one of the four televisions. If you are traveling with an infant or toddler, the house includes a high-chair and baby bed. It also has an umbrella stroller, ride on toys, and sand to play. Safety latches for cleaning supplies are available, as well as safety plugs in all outlets. It is the perfect place for driving to the zoo and many parks. The home has a bike riding or walking path close to the home. 2 adult bikes and a couple of small kids bike are for guest use. Helmets are provided and must be worn by adults and children at all times. Host is not responsible for injuries on bikes. The small park, walking distance, has tennis courts, swings and a climbing gym. It also has a field for soccer and baseball and a climbing pirate ship. The neighborhood is great for walking too. Walking 0.5 miles will take you to the Mississippi Levee which has great views, breezes, and a paved walking, running, and bike path. The home has two hair dryers, straightener, iron and ironing board. It has baking pans, mixer, air fryer, crock pot, and a Cuisinart Convection toaster oven air fryer. It has a washer and dryer located in the attached garage. The garage is attached. and due to the the large amount of plants,may see some outdoor critters occasionally. We do have a check in/our time set; check in is 4 pm and check out 11 am. However, if it needs to be adjusted to accommodate you, please message me on the site when requesting to book. I will try and can usually accommodate you, with prior notice. ********Please feel free to message me with any questions or concerns you may have before booking. No question is a dumb one. I want to make sure you or happy and have no surprises. You will be able to use the entire house with the EXCEPTION of the master bedroom CLOSET. I have provided a place for hanging your clothes as well as a chest of drawers for your clothes in the master bedroom, hall closet, and the guestroom has a closet and dresser. Again,the neighborhood is very safe, family oriented, and quiet. If you are looking for a place to sit outside and BBQ after a day out exploring, this is the place for you. If you want to be able to enjoy a view of some greenery while sitting in the central AC and heat, the sun room makes you feel like you are outside but you get to stay comfortable. If you are visiting with grand children, they will love spending the night roasting making S'mores and playing with the toys. Returning to visit family,or old neighbors, in River Ridge or Harahan this is the place you want to be. You can cook and visit with them.Why stay in a stuffy hotel room, when you can have an entire home to yourself? Quiet hours begin at 9 pm and realize again this is NOT the home for you if you want to party. The house has one bedroom with a king and one bedroom with a queen bed and a baby bed. In addition it has a queen sleeper sofa. The house has only one bathroom and it does have a step up with a handrail for safety. I can put a hospital seat inside the tub if needed to slide into the tub (if needed, please request). It has a removable shower head that can be hand held. This has worked out great for patients recovering from surgery. Please, look closely at the pictures if concerned. I have two grown children who live close by. My daughter, lives a mile down the street and my son is close to downtown. I have put together a book that should answer most of your questions, but I will be only a phone call or message away if you need more information. It is NOT a finished room and may occasionally get bugs etc. I have lots of plants, so if this will be a problem, you may reconsider. You are welcome to use anything in it, but the host refrigerator. (The kitchen has a full size refrigerator with an ice maker for you to use.) I have folding chairs, tons of toys, and bikes of all sizes. I store many more cooking items such as: instant pot, blender, mixer, slow cooker, steamer etc. The neighborhood is quiet, safe, and is perfect for families. However, it is still close to the airport, uptown, downtown, and many other activities. It is close to a bike bath on the levee and a park withing walking distance. Quiet time after 9 PM and NO wild parties, and a very safe family neighborhood. Bring your own vehicles, parking for up to three cars. You can also easily utilize transportation services; such as: Lyft and Uber. Rules: * Once approved please send a message that you have read the rules below and send in the time of check in and out. *Person who makes the booking of the home must be present during the stay. *No smoking of any kind IN the house. Please, let me know if you do smoke and will happily leave receptacles for outside smoking of legal products only. *No pets, unless a service animal. Other animals need special permission from me on a message and will add a pet deposit that will be refunded if no damage. I know how hard it is to leave the furry, family member home. However, I am allergic to cats. So sorry, no cats allowed. Again, pets are not allowed unless I have given special permission after discussing with you by message. * Quiet hours begin at 9 pm till 9 am. Again this is NOT the home for you if you want to party. *The driveway can fit 3 medium size cars. If you are inviting a few family members, a couple of old friends, or intend to have ANY guest, you must message me via the app. I will then message you back with approval or deny the request. I have not denied any request so far since instated. I do understand wanting to get together, but want to make sure we understand the quiet hours and no huge parties. A few family members or friends over for a meal is great, but a wedding reception, class reunion, loud party is not.Unfortunately, I have had a to include this rule because of a wedding reception, a reunion and a baby shower without my knowledge. You can imagine the clean up and not to happy neighbors. The house is not large enough for this and the neighbors will not tolerate the noise or parking. *Also, if hurricane warning is issued for the area you will have to evacuate and any days left on your stay will be fully refunded. This is for your SAFETY and comfort. Staying in a home without electricity or power is no fun, trust this from personal experience! *No dying of hair on the property. I know but you as you can imagine blue and green dye on white towels, sheets, and comforters does not come out! *No renting of movies on the many television apps. *When you leave, put the dirty dishes in the dishwasher and start. We don't want to encourage any unwanted guest/critters. *If staying, I ask that you either water the flowers in "POTS ONLY" once a week or I can easily make arrangements for a day and time that someone can come in and water the few posts during your stay, weekly at a time that is convenient for you. It takes approximately 10 minutes. The flowers in the ground are on timer with a sprinkler system so do not need to be watered. I have a lawn service for the grass, that will come every week in the summer and as needed in the winter or fall. *You must be 21 years or older to book this home. *Things to note during a very heavy rain the backyard can hold water and the garage sometimes has water. The inside of the home has taken in one inch of water once in the 5 years I have owned it. All sheet rock was cut four feet and replaced. I also installed a new sump pump, to hopefully prevent this from happening again. But I have no control over mother nature. * Please note again no cable or sports channels.
