The Royal Elysian - Entire Marigny Guesthouse

Our place is close to the most lively music scene in the city, just a block away on Frenchmen Street, and 3 blocks from the edge of the French Quarter. You'll walk to experience all the excitement downtown New Orleans has to offer, and come back to a peaceful and restful environment when you've had your fill of music, food, and drink. My place is great for families and groups, and since you'll have the whole space, you won't be disturbing anyone if your group is up late. The space The Royal Elysian guesthouse is within an 1840's era brick masonry building, one of the oldest structures in the neighborhood. The building was originally a bakery store on the ground level for nearly 100 years, with living space above. The building was fully restored in 2015, and received a 2016 Award of Excellence in Historic Preservation from the Louisiana Landmark Society. We are excited to welcome you to enjoy the space as we have enjoyed bringing it back to life! The guesthouse is on the second floor, while the first floor is our lovely little Thai restaurant, which closes at 10pm. The restaurant is very quiet, but you may hear the very faint sound of music in some rooms until the restaurant closes. A small manager's office is also on the second floor, with a separate access door from the BnB. We have 5 bedrooms with 5 high quality queen beds, and one queen sofa bed. The sofa bed is located in the dining / kitchen area, and is used as overflow is used as overflow sleeping area. There are 2 bathrooms, which are located in the hallways connected to the bedrooms. The bathrooms are for the use of your Bnb unit only, and cannot be accessed from outside your unit. You may see some reviews indicating the bathrooms are outside the unit. A few years ago we renovated the space to add a 5th bedroom, and to bring the bathrooms within the unit, so the bathrooms are now completely accessible from your private hallway. Guest access The guesthouse is on the second floor, while the first floor is our Thai restaurant, SukhoThai, which closes at 10pm. Restaurant management will occasionally access the small office upstairs through a separate entrance. Guests will have a separate entrance from the business, available to use any time of day or night, and will need to access the rooms by stairs, so unfortunately we do not have an accessible entrance for wheelchairs. Entry is by keypad and a key is also available. The bedrooms do not have en-suite bathrooms. The 2 bathrooms are in the hallway connecting all bedrooms. These bathrooms are for your use only, and are within your secured Bnb unit, not accessible to anyone outside the unit. Each is equipped with shower, toilet and lavatory. We provide towels, soap and shampoo in the bedrooms for guest use. The living room / kitchen is just for the guesthouse, and is equipped with microwave, coffee maker, toaster, refrigerator, dishwasher, dining table and other seating. We do not have a stove for cooking on the premises. For cleanliness, we ask that you please remove your shoes in the hallways outside of the bedrooms before entering the bedrooms. Other things to note Since 2017, we have welcomed thousands of guests who have built wonderful and lasting memories of staying together with friends and family in this historic landmark, and venturing out to enjoy all that our charming New Orleans has to offer.
