We are located in the remote east side of Lower Puna, yet only 9 miles to Pahoa and very close to a myriad of wonderful Big Island attractions along the famous Red Road. The space Cottage at the Ocean is adjacent to 500 acres of state land along the Pacific Ocean. It is a magnificent location! Beautifully appointed, you will find a luxurious, comfortable, and relaxed setting, with Air Conditioning. Cottage at the Ocean guests enjoy a private entry with a spacious garden lanai, living room adjacent to the sleeping area, a full bathroom (with bathtub), a wet bar with a refrigerator, and complimentary coffee/tea setup. The sliding doors and windows provide fresh air, cool evening breezes, and natural lighting during the day. Cottage at the Ocean is adjacent to the main house, where other guests may be staying. Guest access Cottage at the Ocean is totally self-contained. There is a shared laundry room. Other things to note Please be prepared for the remote location of this quiet sanctuary. There is no kitchen, so please plan accordingly. Here are some favorite food options: There are many restaurants in Pahoa, 9 miles away. Uncle Robert's is 1/2 mile away, and it has the well-stocked Kaimu Convenience Store. A coffee, smoothie and sandwich shop is located across the parking area of the Kaimu Convenience Store. Across the cul-de-sac is the Kaimu Farmer's Market every Saturday morning, 8 to 12, with lots of food. There are many local caterers who would delight in preparing you a special meal. I can put you in touch with them! Before I created Cottage at the Ocean, this property was a part of a Buddhist's Meditation Retreat. It still carries this peaceful and tranquil ambiance to this day!
