Our Balinese style, beach-themed condo is the ultimate place to unwind, relax and enjoy the laid-back vibe of NW Maui, while enjoying the music of Don Ho on our vintage record player. Just 8 relaxing minutes north of the world famous Kaanapali resorts, with their dining, shopping and beach options. The ultimate oceanfront experience just off the back lanai! Come experience the ocean and amazing sunsets as they should be experienced. Begin your morning sipping coffee on the back lanai as you enjoy the gentle sounds of the ocean and watch the sea turtles eating seaweed at the base of the seawall. Finish your day dining on the lanai, listening to the sounds of the ocean and Don Ho on our vintage style record player, while watching the sun set against the backdrop of Lanai and Molokai. We don't think you'll find a better place to enjoy the ocean anywhere in West Maui. Open the front and back screen doors and enjoy the cooling trade winds as they flow through the condo, often resulting in 5-10 degrees cooler temperatures than nearby Kaanapali and Lahaina. Kaanapali, with its resorts, beaches and other amenities is only a 10 minute drive from the condo. Enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants there or sunbathing and snorkeling at Airport Beach or at the Sheraton Black Rock. Far enough from the hustle and bustle of the larger resorts and hotels, but close enough to be there in minutes with plenty of stores and dining options even closer! NOTE: Although we do not have an A/C unit, they really aren't necessary for most guests. Most of the units at Kahana Reef do not have A/C units. The complex was designed to take advantage of natural Tradewinds which regularly flow through this part of NW Maui. John sleeps VERY warm, and he had concerns about the lack of an A/C when we purchased our condo. But after staying there multiple times, even in summer, when it's warmest, he realized we didn't need A/C due to the natural flow of air through our unit. Fresh ocean air is the best! There are plenty of fans to facilitate airflow, and the front screen security door locks from the inside, so you can safely keep the front door open at night, allowing excellent airflow through the unit. Our unit includes a very small closet next to the bathroom to store personal items during your stay, as well as two small dressers in the bedroom. We also have two sets of hanger/hooks on the back of the locked owner's closet and the back of the bathroom door for hanging clothes and towels, along with a wall hook in the bedroom. We have recently increased closet space by relocating a few extra items for use during your stay, like a boogie board, beach chairs, snorkeling gear, etc. to on outside storage locker. The code to open this locker was included in your welcome message. NOTE: We do not provide food, condiments, sugar, coffee, etc..: in the kitchen or refrigerator. Our housekeepers are instructed to remove any remaining items when they clean between stays so our refrigerator and kitchen are clean and fresh for the next guests. If you would like to enjoy more sun right next to the ocean, feel free to borrow one of the many lounge chairs available at the other end of our building, next to the stainless steel gas BBQ (also available for use during your stay). All we request is that you return any chairs you borrow and clean the BBQ after use. Enjoy our entire condo, along with the common areas of the complex, including the grass area adjacent to the back patio, fenced pool area, lounge chairs, stainless steel gas BBQs, onsite laundry room. Your stay also includes free parking in the Kahana Reef parking lot, and you can usually park your car a few steps away from the front door. No long walks to the unit, and no stairs to climb to get to the front door! Feel free to message us directly for any questions or concerns which arise during your stay. Quiet beachfront condominium complex on a lightly traveled road (Lower Hanoapillani Road). The perfect destination to relax and rejuvenate! Several great grocery store options and local restaurants are within a few minutes of the condo, including some excellent options for fresh poke (Napili Market)! Park for free in our condo complex parking lot, and either drive, walk or take the bus to local destinations. Several excellent snorkeling options nearby. Napili Bay, Kapalua Bay and Black Rock are all just a short drive from the condo! If you enjoy walking, you'll enjoy walking from our unit on Lower Hanoapiilani Road. Climb up the West Maui airport hill for awesome views of Northwest Maui, Molokai and Lanai and get an excellent workout in the process. PLEASE NOTE: although we allow alert & well-behaved parents, our condo was not designed with infants or young children in mind. The space has not been child-proofed, and although we have a locking screen door and patio door, the seawall is only 20 ft from our back patio. Unsupervised infants and young children are not recommended. Also, our unit does not have air conditioning. The tradewinds often blow through the Kahana Reef-Napaili area and our unit is designed to take advantage of these natural cooling breezes.
