Description
Located in the vibrant St. Claude corridor of the Marigny, Lilac Lair is a thoughtfully remodeled 1920s New Orleans home. It features vaulted ceilings, hardwood floors, decorative mantels, handmade mosaics, and unique local artwork. Walk to nearby bars, restaurants, live music venues, and coffee shops—Frenchmen Street and the French Quarter are just 10 minutes away. Ideal for solo travelers or couples, Lilac Lair offers a creative, stylish, and truly local New Orleans stay. The space Lilac Lair comfortably accommodates up to two guests with one queen bed and one twin daybed. The interior living space is approximately 600 square feet. The owner lives in the back half of the house and rents out the front half to guests. The two units are separated by an insulated interior privacy door that is securely locked on both sides for complete safety and sound control. No one will enter the guest space during your stay unless you submit a maintenance request and provide prior approval for entry. Guests have a private entrance at the front of the home. Simply follow the sidewalk to the porch stoop and up five steps to the front door, which faces Mandeville Street. A lockbox is mounted beside the door, and the access code will be shared before check-in. The interior of Lilac Lair is newly remodeled with a focus on preserving its original New Orleans charm. We highlighted the high ceilings, decorative fireplaces, wood floors, and added personal artistic touches. It’s the perfect retreat for couples or solo travelers to relax between Big Easy adventures. Upon entry, guests step into a cheerful kitchenette and dining nook featuring a mini fridge, purified water dispenser for hot and cold drinks, microwave, toaster, and K-cup coffee maker. We provide a starter supply of snacks and coffee fixings. While Lilac Lair does not include a full kitchen, we’ve added a kitchen-style sink and counter setup to make light food prep and cleanup easy. The living room features a comfortable leather sofa, coffee table, and flat-screen smart TV. Guests can log into their personal streaming accounts and are responsible for logging out before departure. The living room also includes a twin daybed, nightstand with reading lamp, and a small bookshelf. Although open to the main space, this sleeping area still offers a sense of separation and coziness. The private bedroom includes a plush queen bed, mounted smart TV, two nightstands with reading lamps, and both a closet and dresser for luggage and clothing storage. The full bathroom features a classic cast-iron clawfoot tub/shower combo, vanity, fresh towels, and complimentary toiletries. Guest access Parking Guests are welcome to use the right side of the driveway for off-street parking. Please note: ✶ The driveway entrance is steep, and low-clearance vehicles may scrape. ✶ New Orleans streets are narrow, and backing out large vehicles can be difficult. ✶ The Marigny neighborhood also offers free street parking, which many guests find convenient. Security Cameras: ✶ Lilac Lair is a well-secured home. The exterior security cameras are on the property to support our guests’ safety and peace of mind. Please read below for a thorough outline of our security systems offered. ✶ These motion-activated cameras record video + sound. ✶ Lilac Lair has two security cameras on the property. ✶ Camera 1 is mounted on the front of the house, looking towards the porch and the porch stoop. ✶ Camera 2 is mounted on the side of the house, looking towards the private driveway.
