The house has 3 rented bedrooms. Most of my guests are young professionals here for internships, medical residencies or short term jobs (usually for 2 or 3 months). The neighborhood is very peaceful and quiet. I’m happy to show you the house prior to committing to a longer time period thru Airbnb, just get in touch with me. PLEASE NOTE: This location works best if you have a car. This room must be booked by the actual guest. All guests must be vaccinated for Covid. I've traveled a lot, and my home reflects my adventures with photos, textiles, and colors. It's got hardwoods throughout, and every room has a nice area rug. This room faces east and gets morning sun. It has an AC unit in the window, and electric heat. Thermostat for heater is in the room, but I gently ask that you turn heater (or AC) OFF when you leave the house for the day. Each room has it's own lock/key set. This guest room is on the second floor. All guests have access to the shared main bathroom (1st floor), a half bath (2nd floor), living room, dining room, back deck and yard, laundry in basement, and a fully equipped kitchen. You are invited to do as much cooking as you like...just clean up when you're done. We recycle, compost, and keep chickens for fresh eggs (and entertainment!). I have separate food storage areas for each guest, and there's 2 refrigerators. I have many food items that are for sharing, such as coffee, tea, fresh baked bread, half and half, fresh eggs, sugar, butter, condiments, spices, and salad dressings. Anything labelled "HOUSE" is fair game. I also provide laundry detergent. There are extra shampoos and conditioners if you forgot yours, and I have spare toothbrushes or leg razors if you need them! I'm self employed and do most of my work from home, so my schedule is very flexible and I'm generally available to answer questions and talk. I travel extensively for work or simply for adventures, but can always be reached easily via email. This is a quiet neighborhood. I don't have a driveway, but there's plenty of parking on the street. There's conservation land behind all of the houses on the street, and when it's quiet you can sometimes hear the neighbors farm animals (sheep, geese, and chickens) in the distance. An incredible trail system begins just a few houses away thru the woods, and can keep you busy for hours if you're a walker or hiker. All my neighbors know each other, and help each other out. There are a few families with kids, and its the sort of neighborhood where they can play in the street. The public bus system does NOT run by the house. The closest stop is down the hill, on Pleasant Street. It's not far (maybe 1/2 mile?), but it IS a heck of a hill to have to walk back up, especially in inclement weather. The train station is about 4 miles away. UBER is a good way to get around in Worcester if you don't have a car of your own. This house has 3 rented bedrooms, and most of my guests are in the city to work. Worcester isn’t exactly a vacation destination. I have a lot of travel nurses who stay here, as well as medical students in the city for rotations. I emphasize that my house is a quiet space…and with 3 (sometimes 4, if I am in residence) people in the house, I think that knowing your space will be quiet and restful is important. Recently, I changed my occupancy number to 1 guest per room. If you stay here, I don’t mind if you have someone stay with you on occasion…just ask first. But in general, I am switching my listing to a single person per room, more for “quiet” reasons than Covid reasons. I am mindful of Covid, and my guests are certainly aware of the situation as well, due to their careers. If you feel comfortable enough to be in a shared living situation, I’m happy to have you here. As I’ve noted in other sections of my listing description, there are no TV’s in the house. If you bring a TV with you, then bring headphones. It’s to keep the space quiet for everyone, not to restrict your activities. The neighborhood is just wonderful, very peaceful and quiet, with conservation land right behind the houses. I’m happy to show you the house prior to committing to a longer time period thru Airbnb, just get in touch with me. PLEASE NOTE: This location works best if you are bringing/renting a car.
