Description

Pond view, hiking swimming and modern rustic living space. Great rural neighborhood with easy access to all services. The North Shore and Boston The space Our home is nestled in 200 acres of conservation land with magnificent pond view. Only minutes to the finest ocean beaches, commuter rail to Boston, historic Salem, Marblehead, Gloucester, Rockport (Cape Ann). Easy drive to coastal NH and Maine. Step out of our house and you are on an extensive well maintained network of trails for your enjoyment; walking, hiking, fishing, photography, nature observance, and mountain biking. Our 3 bedroom ranch house, in a pristine rural setting has easy access to Boston by car and Commuter Rail (a stop in our town) and all the North Shore cultural and recreational centers. Our home is environmentally sensitive with geothermal providing heat and (totally cool in so many ways) central air conditioning. Peaceful and rejuvenating after an active day. We offer three bedrooms; the new Main Bedroom Suite has a king size water bed (soft sided and firm makes it easy to get in and out of), In the 15' x 17' bedroom there is a gas fireplace, a sitting area with 2 comfy swivel chairs with gorgeous views of the wooded hillside and Beck Pond. Also in the bedroom is a cable tv. There are French Doors stepping out to a bluestone patio with a fire pit, s'mores for everyone! The spa like full bathroom directly off the bedroom is highlighted by a large shower with 3 different shower heads; rain, handheld and standard along with a full width bench in the shower. The floating vanity and full wall length mirror and custom lighting make this bathroom built for relaxing. This bedroom is very private from the rest of the house, a true getaway experience! Walk directly from the main suite into our lovely rustic family room recently furnished (new furniture is not in the photos, but is beautiful and comfortable) TV, wood stove, and a brand new custom designed Nepali rug are comforts in this room. From here walk into the dining room with a zinc top table and French doors into to a large screen porch facing the woods. The porch setting is wooded and private . We have seating including a table and chairs to enjoy hanging out or eating a meal (gas grill & if you are an adventurous cook a 'pit barrel wood smoker') enjoy meals out doors while enjoying the acrobatics of yellow finches chasing each other and hummingbirds visiting feeders all around the property. Observe the abundant wildlife while being protected from any insect activity. The two other bedrooms are at the opposite end of the house from the main bedroom and living space. One small clean and comfortable bedroom with a standard double bed and bureau for your belongings. There is an adjacent larger room with a queen futon, desk/workspace and comfortable sitting chair. It can be used as a bedroom or a 'den'. The full bathroom located near these rooms is tiled, clean and modern. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, a natural cork floor. It is well stocked for any cooking you will want to do. The large front facing picture windows offer the 'million dollar view' of Beck pond and a variety of flower gardens. No better way to start the day than sitting on the sofa with a cup of coffee, listening to the tunes through our vintage Bang & Olufson 'red line' speakers through our great sound system. Or you can always watch a Netflix on our Apple TV, groove rhythms on our Djembe drums and assorted percussion instruments, get cozy on our comfy new leather couch in this wood paneled earthy and bright room. Guests are delighted with the beauty and comfort and how relaxed they feel visiting, as well as how much there is to see and do that is uniquely quintessential New England. We have a sit- on kayak for you to use on the pond across the street or bring your own canoe or any non-powered boat since they are not allowed. There is no boat noise. just the sounds of the bull frogs. We have a boat ramp to a lake 1/2 mile down the road for motor boats if you so desire. The surrounding towns of Essex and Ipswich are famous for fried clams and the finest fresh seafood, as well as an antique lover's paradise. Hamilton is home to Myopia Hunt Club, also minutes away is America's oldest tea house. Close by is Peabody Essex Museum. Crane Beach in Ipswich (ranked in the top 25 of U.S. beaches by Trip Advisor's travelers), Singing Beach in Manchester By the Sea, Good Harbor Beach and Wingaersheek Beach in Gloucester, all within 20 minutes drive from our house. Rockport, Gloucester, Salem and Marblehead all offer rich historic (and haunted) attractions such as The House of Seven Gables, Salem Witch Museum, and on the harbors there are cruises, schooners and tour boats; there's even a ferry to Boston from Salem. We look forward to getting to know you and share our love of this region. Having raised our two sons in the house, we have always taken advantage of the wonders that surround us here in Cape Ann. We are very excited to be a part of making your visit to New England a memorable one. Guest access Access to the entire house and grounds, abutting 180 acres of conservation land #chebaccowoods. Other things to note This is a peaceful and quiet neighborhood, please fall fully into the spirit of the land!
