Solar powered farm stay near wild hotsprings!
Description
Experience a WORKING (formerly Amish) off-grid farm in the heart of rural southwest Montana. Off-grid yet cozy, we are the perfect fit for those looking to escape the stress of the city for a simple farm experience. Your experience will be rustic, grounded, and unique. Local attractions include Hot Springs, Hiking, Rafting, Biking, Skiing, Snowboarding, Snowmobiles, Theater, Hunting, Fishing, ATVs, Caverns, National Parks, Ringing Rocks, and Mining Towns. 17 minutes S of I-90. The space The family apartment is located in the private downstairs of our formerly Amish farmhouse (we live upstairs in separate quarters) and includes all three guest rooms, a full kitchen, living area, and private bathroom. A wood-fired sauna is available on the property and shared among guests. Set on a working farm, this is a true Montana experience—open land, animals, and an authentic rural environment rather than a manicured resort. Free-range poultry roam the property, and nature comes as it is. The experience here is simple and grounded: big skies, star-filled nights, and space to slow down. Enjoy board games, gather with your group, and take in the surroundings. Watch for deer, bald eagles, and even the occasional moose passing through. We are located in the heart of blue-ribbon fly fishing country, with the Big Hole, Beaverhead, Ruby, and Jefferson rivers nearby. Renova Hot Springs is just 6 miles away for a soak along the Jefferson River. The apartment is off-grid (solar), so power is intentionally limited, though you’ll still have the essentials—lights, hot water, and high-speed internet (avg. 100 Mbps) if you need to stay connected. Guest access Front door entrance is shared with the hosts but once you get down the stairs the apartment has it's own private entrance. We are located in the country so be aware that most restaurants and urban attractions will be 20-45 minutes away. The road getting to the property is partial pavement and partial gravel. Our gravel driveway is 1/2 mile long. We enjoy the stars so we do not have security lights in the parking areas. There is parking available next to the house for up to 3 vehicles. Please notify us if you plan to bring more than 3 vehicles so we can discuss parking options. Other things to note This is an active working farm, so you may hear animals, equipment, or farm activity at various times of day, including early mornings or evenings. We do our best to respect your stay, but some noise and light are part of farm life. For your safety, please stay out of animal pens and off the trampoline. No outside animals are allowed (see note below). The house is off-grid (solar), so power is limited. Please be mindful and avoid running multiple high-energy appliances at once (toaster oven, coffee pot, hairdryer, etc.). Lights and laptops are fine, and the propane stove/oven can be used at any time. Please remove shoes inside the house. To help protect our septic system, do not pour grease or anything other than liquid down the sink drains. Thank you. ! Service Animals ! We respect and support the important role of service animals. However, for their safety, our property is not a suitable environment. We have working livestock guardian dogs whose job is to protect farm animals and deter unfamiliar animals. While they are friendly toward people, they may view other animals as a threat. For the safety of your animal, we strongly recommend choosing a different accommodation if your service animal must accompany you.
