Sowa Goat Sanctuary is a 501c3 nonprofit that provides lifelong holistic care to abused, neglected, critical ill and special needs farmed animals. Loft features include organic linens, a gravity blanket, reverse osmosis filtered water, organic coffee and breakfast items, and vegan, cruelty-free bath products. The stay includes a 30-minute private meet-and-greet with our rescued animals either in the afternoon from 2:30-3:00 or in the morning from 11:00-11:30. Longer tours may be arranged. Nestled next to a three-generation family orchard, Sowa Goat Sanctuary is a 10-acre farm in beautiful Harvard, MA. Wake up in our airy third floor loft, bathed in natural light overlooking our rescued goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, and turkeys. Harvard is a haven for cyclists and the area is full of phenomenal trails for both biking and hiking. Guests will have access to the entire third floor loft, which includes its own bathroom, TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime, fridge with reverse osmosis filtered water, coffee maker, and breakfast items. They will not have access to the kitchen or any other areas of the house. Guests are welcome to walk around the sanctuary grounds but are not be permitted in the barn, coop, or pastures unless accompanied by the hosts Olivia or Jim. The hosts will be available throughout your stay to answer any questions and help make your time at the sanctuary as relaxing and peaceful as possible. Historic Harvard, MA is filled with family orchards, lush forests and beautiful wetlands. It is particularly gorgeous in the fall when the trees are popping with stunning yellow, red, and orange leaves. The area is perfect for hiking, seeing local wildlife, enjoying time in nature, and is a cyclist's paradise! Because it is a rural area, a car is needed to get to the sanctuary and explore surrounding areas. There is a commuter rail about 10 minutes from the sanctuary that goes into Boston. Many cyclists enjoy riding through Harvard and you are welcome to bring your bike with you to the sanctuary. We are a vegan sanctuary and out of respect for our rescued animals, we ask that you do not bring any animal products with you for your stay.
