We also leave beach towels, flashlights, boogie boards, coolers and beach chairs for your use. So far, our guests have been wonderful about leaving them for the next person and even add to the collection! There are gas BBQs by the pool. All you need are your shorts, slippahs, and a smile! This is a second floor unit with a beautiful view of the coconut coast and is located about 300 feet from the beach across a grass field with a sidewalk leading from the unit to the beach. The beach pictures are taken from the end of the sidewalk looking North and South. As you can see, the beach is very quiet and uncrowded. Plantation Hale is located in Kapaa, about eight miles North of the Lihue Airport. It is next to the Coconut Plantation Marketplace for those of you familiar with the island. The main road around Kauai is shaped like a horseshoe with no roads on the north shore. We are located in the center of the horseshoe and equal distances to the end of the road in both directions. You can fish, swim and snorkel at the beach out front or go body surfing, boogie boarding, kayaking, water-skiing or golfing a short drive away. There is also plenty of shopping close at hand. Gift shops and art galleries abound with lots of fun little restaurants in Kapaa town. Don't miss the farmer's market with fresh fruit and produce at bargain prices. We love interacting with our guests but won't bother you unless you need a little help. You may see us at the beach or paddling canoe, surfing or hiking because we love the island lifestyle and try to get outside for exercise on a regular basis. All of our properties are 100% private (no shared spaces or hosts that are in house) so you'll have the hale all to yourself. Plantation Hale Even though hitchhiking is an approved mode of transit and we have a bus (yes just one) on island we almost always say it's good to have da car. The Garden island is chock full of nooks and crannies that you'll need wheels to get to so it's best to rent while here. The bus IS a pretty wild experience if you decide to go that route. You'll get to meet the locals but don't plan on using the bus on a tight schedule... Once it took me nearly ALL DAY to get to Lihue from Princeville when doing some test rides. Please be respectful to neighbors when coming and going from the unit, and when utilizing exterior areas. Responsible party must be 21 years of age or older to rent with KREG. Also worth noting for those new to Kauai is that there are lots of fauna and flora that one may not be used to on the mainland. This is paradise for more than humans and you'll see Chickens and Roosters throughout the island, geckos (they are our friends) as they take care of other bugs that you might come across as well. We treat for pests regularly and the first couple days after treatment activity is a little higher and you may run across something..
