Located on a lake in Central MA, this beautiful and secluded retreat consists of 4 buildings nestled among tall pines on 10 acres of woods with abundant water frontage. A perfect getaway for family reunions, a relaxed vacation with friends, a yoga retreat or any type of gathering that seeks a peaceful setting in nature, a gorgeous view, water activities, and space to spread out. Comfortably sleeps 10-14 people. 4 of the bedrooms have their own attached full bath. The space This unique property was formerly a Buddhist Retreat Center, right on the lake with four buildings surrounded by giant pine, oak and birch trees at the end of a long dirt road - the definition of a get-away! Enjoy cocktails or meals by the water while watching incredible sunsets with herons or bald eagles gliding by. Take walks in the woods, go swimming, boating or fishing. Or just relax! There is plenty of room to spread out and a multitude of places to sit and read, nap or catch up with friends and family. The original cottage was built circa 1900 and has a wrap around porch and large stone patio with furniture and grill for enjoying the lake, as well as a second floor deck off the master bedroom. It has been completely updated inside with a fireplace, updated kitchen, 2 full baths and large windows for stunning lake views. The kitchen has a 48inch range with 6 burners, a griddle and 2 ovens so cooking for a group shouldn’t be a problem. The second two story house was constructed in 2002 and has 3 bedrooms - each with its own full bath as well as an additional full bathroom in common area with steam shower. There is a full kitchen and sitting area opening on to another large deck. Building #3 is a “writers” cabin that contains 2 queen beds with an additional futon chair that folds down into a single bed. One wall is filled with bookcases and a desk. Although it has no plumbing it is close to the cottage for bathroom access. The last building was the monk meditation room and is a gorgeous post and beam building with giant glass doors leading to a balcony that hangs over the lake. We currently have ping pong and foosball tables, exercise bike, a desk and a huge sofa for viewing the amazing sunsets! Underneath are 2 canoes, 2 kayaks and 2 paddle boards. The lake connects with another lake to the south and two rivers to the north so there are great opportunities for expeditions by boat. The houses have air conditioning although with the lake breeze it’s not usually needed. There is Wi-Fi on entire property and three desks in different spaces. Hopefully you don’t have to work, but it sure beats working from home! Guest access Guests will have access to the entire property- 2 houses, a Cabin, and the boathouse/ game room overlooking the lake along with 2 canoes, 2 kayaks and 2 paddle boards. There is plenty of private parking space. Other things to note Our listing is back online! We spent some time renovating the place and using it for our own family, and now we're ready to rent the property out again. You'll be impressed with the updates! This is a place to get away from it all but please NOT A PARTY HOUSE! We have great neighbors along the lake who also come for the peace and quiet and we hope to respect that and be good neighbors as well. We are however 15 minutes from TreeHouse brewery - consistently rated one of top 5 breweries in the country so great place to take your celebration. We are also close to the Brimfield Antique Fair and just over an hour to Boston. Good for families attending graduation ceremonies.
