Sunny Private room and private bath in Jefferson
Clean and sunny furnished room and private bath. Safe and quiet neighborhood. Free washer and dryer in house. 2 miles from Ochsner Main; 15 min to downtown/midcity. Easy walk to the levee run/bike trail/park with track. 3 friendly non-shedding medium/large dogs that mostly stay downstairs. I'm a musician and SO is an emergency nurse. 30 day minimum stay required, preference medical workers/students 1st. Courteous of your privacy. Drama-free, politics-free, drug-free plz (including smokers) Update March 2023: only taking med students and travel nurses/health care workers for logistical reasons—will consider others on a case-to-case basis. Easy, laid back home. Good and fast access to all major roads and highways into and out of the city. You WILL get lots of doggy attention and jumping—they are always ready for excited greetings and snuggle time. It’s usually a bit cluttered downstairs with dog toys and other dog related mischief, so it won’t always be super neat and tidy looking. The room itself is completely furnished with a new mini-fridge with freezer, and a microwave. Your guest bath was also recently completely redone (June 2020). TV in room with Hulu for your entertainment. We provide towels, sheets, and a comforter, or you can bring your own. The bathroom has basic shampoo, soap, tissues, and cleaning supplies stocked. The closet has many hangers and there is a shoe rack outside your door. The mattress also has a protective mattress cover that is dust/pest repellant and has a memory foam topper. We have laundry detergent/softener on the premises if you need some and don’t want to buy an entire jug for a shorter stay. Though we share the living room and kitchen, we are independent, respectful of your privacy, and won't bother you. We keep a baby gate at the bottom of the stairs to keep the pups from going upstairs unless we take them up to get bathed (in our bathroom), or if one gets spooked (thunder, fireworks). I use the room next to the rental room as a practice/teaching studio as needed, but always during the daytime. We can always work out hours if you’re on a tough schedule and need sleep anytime during the day. Guests/SO’s: it gets pretty crowded fast in this space with the pups, and we’ve had some issues with this in the past. If you have an SO that wants to visit, you’re welcome to stay at a hotel during their visit, but unfortunately we can’t host them here. Around when I'm not at work; can reach me by cell phone at any time. We tend to keep to ourselves unless you want to socialize with us (happy to talk anytime!) otherwise we stay out of your business. Also a heads up that we have the news on a lot in the background and it’s usually CNN, and *never* Fox. Everyone is welcome to stay here regardless of their beliefs, but if you think we should be watching Fox and not CNN and want to be verbal about it, this is probably not the right Airbnb for you! Close to shopping, food, parks, hospitals, and an easy drive to downtown, midcity, and the Quarter. Safe and quiet. Best to have a car or bike, or rely on Uber/Lyft. Bus stop is on the corner if needed, if you don’t mind the trip taking a while to get to where you need. If you bring your own car, you can park mostly anywhere on the street across from us, or in front of us (if empty). Don’t park on anyone’s grass, of course. Please don’t park in front of our other neighbors (especially levee side, wood picket fence and house next to them) as they are very protective of their street space, even if empty. Preference given to those doing medical rotations, travel medicine (nurse/doctor), education, or other needed professionals in Nola.
