Nestled in the historic Loess Hills of Iowa and just 30 minutes from downtown Omaha, this authentic log home offers abundant wildlife, scenic views, ample walking trails, and the peace of the country. Step out onto the deck and watch the sunset, play horseshoes and grill on the patio, relax with a book on the covered porch, or challenge someone to a game of pool! This house is perfect for 2-3 couples looking for a great get-away or a family desiring "true" facetime! The space This is a true log home, not just a house with "log siding." The peaceful feeling created by the natural elements in the home is evident from the moment you enter the house. Many of our guests have tried to describe it, but in truth, you just can't know until you experience it. Guest access Guests have access to all parts of the house except the garage and a few drawers and cupboards. DISH Network with Sports package is available to guests along with "whole house" stereo system. Main floor rooms include: four-seasons room with seating area, 52" TV and card table; great room with 22' vaulted ceilings, a beautiful fire place, seating area, 60" TV, dining space, reading chairs, and state-of-the-art kitchen with professional stove and stainless steel appliances; the master (king) bedroom with vaulted ceilings, 48" TV, reading chair, and en suite bathroom; guest bedroom #1 with queen bed; main bath; and laundry room. The loft area is over the back half of the house and has a balcony for wildlife viewing. There are two twin beds (twins over full) and a sleeper sofa. Most important, the views from this area of the home are spectacular. The basement is finished and also available for guest use. However, the floor is still unfinished cement. The great room has a pool table, 52" TV, large sitting area, and card table. There is a queen master with 1/2 bath en suite (shower not yet installed) and an additional full bath. Outside spaces include a large deck across the front of the house with two eating tables (6-person and 4-person high top) and a conversation area with adirondack chairs; a covered porch with seating area and ceiling fan; a back patio area with 6-person table, grill, fire pit (real wood burning), and horseshoe pits, and several acres of wooded forest to enjoy (at your own risk.) Other things to note The house has DISH TV with sports package. There is also WiFi available. There are three holes of "Frisbee Golf" available, as well. Guests are welcome to hike on the land (at their own risk), but are not allowed to ride any off-road vehicles or motorcycles. There is a "whole house" stereo system available for guest use.
