This Historic Box Cottage was relocated from Ft. Madison to this property in 1848 by John Box, it was brought down by Barge. Its construction is Brick. it has a nice size front room and spacious eat in kitchen. and a front porch that is enclosed. 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms. It was here even before the Johnstone Mansion which graces the rest of the property. The shared yard is very large and would be great for Events such as Weddings and family reunions.The Cottage has a very steep staircase so upstairs is not handicap friendly. But we can place a bed or two downstairs to accommodate all. We love pets and children and in process of making area for them to enjoy Keokuk with you.
