Sunny, light filled loft in 1873 Colonial

Relax in our bright, very spacious, and quiet loft, on six open acres. Lounge on the stone terrace, under the stars, by a cozy fire, near the garden. 35 min to Northampton, 35 min to MassMoca, 10 min to Berk. East. Pellet stove, Fiber Optic Wi-Fi, streaming options, and cell coverage. Fully outfitted kitchen with home made granola, and assorted beverages. Two hybrid bikes available for use. There are 3, 5-ft long skylights, and a cathedral ceiling= much natural light! The space The apartment has a queen sized bed with Tempur-Pedic memory foam topper, coffee maker (with coffee provided), plenty of pots, pans, and utensils, and a 39" HD TV with Sling streaming service. There is fiber optic WiFi with speeds up to 400 Mbps. The space is newly renovated with nine new windows, and new paint on the walls, ceilings, and floors. There are three, 5 foot long skylights on the slanted ceiling- one in the living room, one in the kitchen, and one in the bathroom. There are just about six acres of open field, which faces south/southwest, and a beautiful vegetable garden with stone terraces at both ends. We also built a Black Locust pergola at the south end of the garden, which sits atop a Goshen stone terrace (we just planted grapes, but they're still very short!). There is also a fire pit at one end of the garden, and an outdoor fireplace at the other end. There are flower gardens in several spots on the property. We are 100 yards from the public library, which, has recently been upgraded in a major way. Our home also houses a one room post office (300 sq. feet), which is open from 12pm to 4pm, M-F, and 8:30am to 11:30am on Saturday. It's rarely busy... Guest access Laundry room available on site for longer stays... Other things to note OUTDOOR ADVENTURES AND SKIING Plainfield Pond is minutes away- Goshen State Forest with beach and hiking is 15 minutes away. Crab Apple rafting and Zoar Outdoor are 25 minutes from us. Berkshire East Ski Area has downhill skiing, and summer outdoor activities. They are in Charlemont, Ma (20 min). Notchview State reservation has tremendous cross-country skiing and hiking trails, about 18 minutes away in Windsor, Ma. Stump Sprout also has tremendous cross-country skiing and snow shoeing . They are in Hawley, Ma, about 11 minutes away. We also have about six acres to ski and snow shoe on, here at the apartment… RESTAURANTS As for restaurants, the closest is the Ashfield Lakehouse (10 min) which is being renovated- I believe it's going to feature Italian food. The Gypsy Apple is in Shelburne Falls, and they are phenomenal, but it's small, you'll need reservations . The Blue Rock Restaurant is also in Shelburne Falls, and it too is an excellent place to dine ("new American cuisine", and great Margaritas).They are 20 min away. Burgy Brews is in Williamsburg (20 min), and they have craft cocktails, craft beer, pub food, and live music . The Old Creamery ( Cummington 7 min), is an excellent grocery store with excellent prepared food, and a great deli. That's probably your best all around bet. We often get food to go, and warm it in the oven. If you really want to venture out, go to Northampton- great restaurants, and lots of shopping, about 35 min away. ..Hope this helps! Peter
