Ausadie is a registered local and National Historic property, located in the Medical and Downtown District. Only a few minutes walk to many entertainment venues, museums, galleries, for live theatres, Coe college and many churches in restaurants. The building has been beautifully restored and offers a courtyard with a pool, flower gardens and peaceful Koi pond. Laundry and fully-equipped gym are also included. Our secure building will feel like your home away from home! The Ausadie building was built in 1923 by Austin Palmer. Palmer was known for the "THE PALMER METHOD OF HANDWRITING". The building has been wonderfully preserved by Richard Cooley and Tim Oberbroeckling, your host. Great care has been given to this building and it has been a labor of love for Richard and Tim. Included in this private apartment has a completely stocked kitchen including all your cookware as well as coffees, teas, hot chocolate, juices and water. The building is a secure building using a security keypad to gain access. Guest we'll have access to all parts of the building including the laundry facility and fitness center. We have a very friendly, relaxing and safe building. We believe in giving our guests the privacy they need, but please do not hesitate to ask us for any assistance that you may need. We are located in the Medical District which makes it great for those coming to Cedar Rapids for medical purposes. Both hospitals and PCI clinics are all between 2 and 5 minute walks. Downtown which offers many activities is only a 10 minute stroll. You can also walk to major attractions like the Grant Wood Studio, Masonic Library Museums, and the Cedar Rapids History Center. All are a mere one minute walk from our location. Across the street you will find Riley's Cafe, known for their great breakfast and lunches. If it's a nightcap you are looking for, Grace Pub is also across the street, serving food and Cocktails. Coe College is a 5-minute walk which makes us a perfect place for visiting parents. Located in your apartment, you will find a full directory listing nearby restaurants, local attractions, as well as churches. So come celebrate our neighborhood, there is much to see and do! We are located on 1st Avenue, (Highway 151) and right off of interstate 380. You can use public transportation located on the corner in the front of our building. Covered parking in the ramp is located to the rear of the property (PCI parking ramp) or in are open parking to the west side of the building all parking is free.
