Mahalo The island of Molokai is the most Hawaiian of all the HI islands! Molokai is not the island of Maui or Oahu but can be reached via a short 15 minute flight from either Maui or Oahu. There is a small store for essentials located a short walk away open seven days a week. Outdoor security cameras in use. Just a few minute walk to Papohaku beach, the longest white sand beach in the state of HI (3 miles long, and all to yourself!). Dixie Maru Cove, one of the best snorkeling spots on the island, is a few minutes down the road. Kepuhi, the beach closest to the condo is the location of the annual Molokai2Oahu paddleboard race. Resident peacocks and turkeys wander across the lanai, from which whales can be seen in the winter. From the beach a cliff pictured in Pirates of the Caribbean can be seen. You can also try out surfing at the beach, as board rentals are available on the island. There is also a golf course on the island. A short drive away, a mule ride can be taken to see Kalaupapa. Tour Coffees of Hawaii and Kumu Farms for a look into the agricultural heart of the island. On the east end of the island, hikes can be taken through the Kamakou Preserve's rainforest to the highest point on the island or to a water fall you can swim at the base of in Halawa Valley, one of the earliest settlements in HI (1,350 years ago!). The reef on the south side of the island is the longest in HI (30 miles long!) and offers amazing snorkeling or scuba diving opportunities with sea turtles, dolphins, and manta rays. A boat or helicopter ride can be taken on the north shore to see the highest sea cliffs in the world (3,000 ft!). Small store open 7 days a week just a short walk.
