Our home, PiliMai 2D is a first floor unit, no stairs and was upgraded to have travertine tile throughout the entire condo with no carpeting used in any space. We have furnished the condo with top notch furniture such as Palecek and installed beautiful Koa ceiling fans in all bedrooms, lanai, and living room. East facing large lanai allows beautiful views of sun rise over the Ha’upu Mountain range and rows of Royal Palm trees, and receives cooling easterly trade winds in the afternoons. Pili Mai 2D is a beautifully landscaped plantation style condo in Poipu. The condo is a first floor unit with no stairs to climb or carry luggage up, and is located right next door to the pool/gym entrance. The location is very convenient when walking small children to the pool, bringing bbq back and forth from the grills, or just forgetting something and be able to run next door to grab it. The resort pool and clubhouse includes a large jacuzzi, a separate children’s pool, outdoor showers, and numerous BBQ areas spread throughout a nicely landscaped area. On the second level of the clubhouse is a large well outfitted gym with an elevator for persons with mobility issues, which we find incredibly convenient to get a workout in without wasting time driving back and forth to an off site location. All 3 bedrooms have their own full baths, and two of the bedrooms have ensuite baths. The first master bedroom has a walk in closet, double sinks and a walk in travertine shower. The second master and third guest bathroom are equipped with tubs. All of the vanities have granite tops, and are floating with under mount lights so no hassles to retrieve dropped items. The condo was upgraded to have travertine tile throughout the entire condo, which we find maintains a cleaner environment and easier to roll luggage in and out. The unit has central air conditioning controlled by a simple to use Ecobee wifi thermostat and remote controlled ceiling fans in all bedrooms, living room and the lanai. We have wall mounted all new flat screen LG and Samsung smart TVs in the living room and two masters with Spectrum cable subscription, which also provides high speed wifi. The resort was built with a floor-plan that allows all lanais to be staggered, which allows privacy and a nice sanctuary at the end of a day exploring. There is also plenty of seating for groups of as many as eight to relax comfortably. There are two assigned parking spaces, one in a keypad controlled garage, and also a numbered space next to the condo, in addition to numerous visitor spaces throughout the complex. Inside the garage we have Tommy Bahama “backpack” beach chairs, umbrellas, cooler, body boards and foam surf boards for guests' use. I am located in NY Pili Mai is built on the Kiahuna Golf Course, and is centrally located to all activities in Poipu, and throughout south and west Kauai. You can walk approximately 10 minutes to Poipu Shopping Village where several restaurants including Puka Dog (Travel Channel top ten hot dog stands in America and featured on Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations), Keoki’s Paradise (live music almost every night) and Starbucks can be found. A quick 3 minute drive will bring you to the shops at Kukuiula where more upscale restaurants, cafes and shops are located or drive 4 minutes to Poipu Beach. Old Koloa Town Main Street is home to more rustic old school Hawaiian Plantation feel shopping and restaurants including the local grocery store Big Save. The famous Waimea Canyon State Park is about a 40 minutes drive , with numerous hikes of different duration and ability in addition to the Kokee Lodge which is not to be missed. Driving roughly 30 minutes in the opposite direction will take you to sights and hiking in the Kapaa area such as Wailua Falls or Sleeping Giant. Public transportation is limited and a car is definitely recommended to really explore the island. We love Poipu because although trips to the north shore will take only about an hour and 15 minutes to drive up we receive about one half the rain annually so you are much more likely to have those sunny days on a short trip. Pili Mai is approximately 25 minutes drive to the airport and avoids driving through Kapaa, which experiences significantly more traffic than most locales on island. Other things to note 1. Robot vacuum: We have an automated robot vacuum available if you would like to run a floor cleaning cycle while you’re out. The machine should return to its charging base when complete. Just be careful of charging cords and shoe laces :) Frequently Asked Questions FAQ • How close to the beach are you? 1.3 miles which is about a 3 minute drive. There is usually plenty of parking even later in the afternoon, and Brenneke’s Beach Broiler is across the street for lunch or dinner afterwards. •How close is the pool to the home? The pool is the next building over from our unit. Only steps away, but not so close the pool noise is disturbing on the lanai. •Is the AC for the whole condominium or is it portable? The condo has central AC for the whole condominium with an easy to set Ecobee thermostat that also displays local temperature and weather What is occupancy taxs and fees?
