This three bedroom ranch home is located on the beautiful Paulinskill Lake in the best kept secret of New Jersey, Sussex County. This lakefront home has its own private dock as well as 400 feet of private lakefront. Swimming, canoeing, floating, or lounging in the hammock, all awaits you in this nature retreat. The Home has an electric stove top, coffee pot, microwave, crock pot, toaster, and a propane grill on the deck. It has three large bedrooms: the master bed has a queen bed and a private bathroom with a shower. The second bedroom has a queen sized bed and the third has two single beds. The second bathroom has a tub and shower. There is a sectional couch which can sleep two if you need and another single sleeper couch in the semi-private fire place room. It has been decorated in mid-century craftsman style and the kitchen was fully renovated in 2015. The property has a dock ( Note: the lakefront is down a winding but gradual hill) with a red Old Town canoe, archery, and about 10 float options. Handicap Accessibility to lakefront: There is a road access point where you could drive to the lakefront...trucks are better but I go on it with my 2006 honda and have had no problems) ***Great icefishing for outdoorsman in the winter! The lake is also fabulous for ice skating. I love my neighborhood because it is extremely quiet and a complete escape from whatever you need it to be. It's family friendly and close to so many activities. Neighbors watch out for each other and take care of our little piece of heaven. 4+ acres of tree filled land and 400 feet of private lakefront. The house is set a top a hill and there is a short walk down a gradual hill to the lake. I do not live on the property so you will have total privacy, but I am available via text or phone 24 hours for any needs or advice on activities. Neighbors are nearby but not close. Very rare for a lakefront. The Paulins Kill valley contains many protected areas. Nearby (5 minutes and you can rent boats) Swartswood State Park, established in 1914 as the first and oldest state park in New Jersey, is on 2,272 acres just north of Paulins Kill Lake in Sussex County. Along Kittatinny Ridge in the northern part of the watershed are parts of Worthington State Forest, Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, and Stokes State Forests which is part of the Appalachian Trail. Sussex Fairgrounds is a 15 minute drive and has many activities all year long. http://www.newjerseystatefair.org/ For those leaf changing lovers: trees that add to the beauty of the fall foliage include maple, birch, hickory, elm, and crab apple. There is plenty of free parking on the property. Public Transportation is available from NYC. If you choose to take a bus, you will have to take a 7 minute taxi ride to the house. If you take a train the commute is about 30 minutes to the house and a car is recommended. There are grocery stores and shops very close to the house as well as a downtown area of Newton...about a 7 minute drive away. The house is not on a lakefront, its a one minute walk to the lake down a gradual hill. The lake is a motorboat lake but I do not own a boat. Rain or shine this retreat is very relaxing.
