This is the only property in the IA, MN and WI Driftless Area with three blue ribbon cold-water trout streams (refers to streams with naturally reproducing Brook, Brown, Rainbow and Tiger Trout) and includes over 1 mile of stream (described in a public program document by Minnesota Trout Unlimited as the "best mile of fishing in the Midwest"). The stream restoration and fishing experience has been featured in national TV and print media, including the New York Time, numerous national sportsman publications (Fly Fisherman, Fly Rod and Reel, Trout, American Angler, Midwest Fly Fishing), national Trout Unlimited publications, regional sportsman shows and regional newspapers such as the Chicago Tribune, Minneapolis Star Tribune, Des Moines Register, Cedar Rapids Gazette, LaCrosse Tribune. Now home to over 170 bird species which is noted to be the largest number recorded for any single property in the Driftless area. Fishing guests: we offer onsite fishing at reduced rates of $75/day per person or $150/stay per person, which supports annual land burns and stream conservation efforts. Guests may fully access the home, garage, trout fishing with separate rod rental fee, and hiking trails. Approximately 40 minutes to LaCrosse, WI; 3 hours to Minneapolis/St. Paul area; 1.5 hours to Rochester, MN; 5 hours to Chicago; 25 miles to Decorah and Waukon, IA - as well as Spring Grove, MN You will need a vehicle as there is no public transportation available. Security system in place and code will be given to allow access throughout your stay. Holiday rates, when available, are additional $50 per night.
