Lending library of reading materials available for guest with special "Louisiana" or outdoor-themed books. Board games, croquet, and assorted DVD's with large screen TV for family movie night. An outdoor firepit area, hammock and porch swing is perfect for lazy lounging. One load of firewood is provided. A newly added beach area is perfect for kids swimming and kayak launching. Note: There are two outside cats that live on the property. Exclusions: Because of limited parking and prior damage we do not allow large groups, parties, or family reunions. Guest access The boat house use would need to be arranged in advance. Other things to note Two cats live outside and belong with the property. So if you are allergic to cats, this home may not be ideal for you because they do frequent the back porch area. We used to feed the cats in feeders, but raccoons made that impossible, so they have to be fed daily. Either we come and do it or guests can feed them with food we provide. Holly Harbor is on the lake and that means often bugs come to the party uninvited. That's usually just part of the territory, but we fight the battle with ants, spiders, and midge bugs--which are more prevalent in the summer months. It's also an older home, built in the 1960's. As a result, it's certainly not perfect--more like the owner, a work in progress. :) Additionally since this is our personal (and only home) we have 55 years of life displayed on walls, vacation memory collectibles, photo frames, personal artwork...in other words--our life. These are fond memories to us, but this may not be for everyone. We prefer guests know this up front and make the best decision for them. However with all that aside, we love life here and think the peace and calm advantages of the view far outweigh the down side. But that's really for you to decide what's best for you. We just like transparency so we make sure guests know this before they select our home.
