Finished under canvas with tongue and groove pine, this very small space offers a unique lodging experience. Inside is a nice queen size bed, 2 bench seats, and a pull out dining table. Enjoy mountain views from the outside bench, rocker & fire pit. Bathroom facilities in our nearby shop. The space Enjoy the view of the mountains from the small outside deck. A fire pit and seating are provided for enjoying the evening. The sheepherder stove is disconnected right now, but there's a small electric heater and a small fan provided. The sheep wagon has power outlets and we'll provide that first cup of morning coffee/tea. (Plus there's a great local coffee roaster in Sheridan.) You'll find storage under the bed for your gear. The sheep wagon is in front of our shop, where there's access to the bathroom (sink, toilet, shower). The chuck wagon box on the back of the wagon opens to provide a place to set up your cooking (we can provide a portable stove if needed). Plus there's numerous great restaurants and a brewery a short drive away. Located in the Ruby Valley of Montana, we're surrounded by mountain ranges and blue ribbon trout streams. Enjoy exploring the Tobacco Root, Gravelly, Highland or Ruby Mountains; cast a line in the Ruby, Madison, Beaverhead, Big Hole or Jefferson Rivers. Explore Montana history in Nevada and Virginia City. Spend a day exploring ghost towns, caverns and hot springs. The full service community of Sheridan Montana is 6.5 miles away. A trip to Yellowstone National Park is just 100 miles away; avoid the crowds and expense by coming back here after a day exploring all the beauty and adventure the Park has to offer. It might be obvious that we like this area. A caveat - it is a rural ranching community, so it can be considered pretty quiet around here. Our closest signal is 45 miles away and livestock outnumber residents 10 to 1. There is no kitchen in the sheep wagon, but you will have access to a microwave, propane BBQ grill, and refrigerator/freezer if needed. Guest access Besides the sheep wagon , you're welcome to explore our place. Well behaved dogs are welcome with prior notification and there's a nice pond with an endless supply of sticks for your canine companions. Other things to note It's an adventure in a sheep wagon! The space is very compact, and the restroom facility is in our shop (and typical shop, it's cluttered with working stuff). There is the potential for road noise from the rural highway and from farm equipment. The WiFi can be spotty, and probably wont stream movies (but you can enjoy a campfire outside instead). It's not your typical Airbnb, and maybe not for everyone, but we sure seek to provide a 5-star stay. We don't charge a cleaning fee and appreciate guests who respect our wagon.
