Home in New Orleans

Our home shares a building with a bakery, so you will wake up every morning to the yummy smells of baked goods! We are close to all the best of the Bywater including Elizabeth's, The Joint, Vaughn's, Bacchanal, Pizza Delicious, Crescent Park, & tons of artist run galleries. It is a great neighborhood and you'll have access to two bikes to ride around town to adventure into the Marigny or French Quarter. This private room is the best fit for couples, or solo adventurers. The space A big open common space, with full kitchen, dining, and living room. Your private bedroom is upstairs in the new addition 'camel back' of this 1850's constructed house. One side of the building is our family owned bakery, Shake Sugary, so we often have baked goods around as a perk! You will have the upstairs to yourself, including a full bathroom, all accessed from a spiral staircase built from salvaged bargeboards. Guest access This is a family home (Including my wife, daughter age 3, and myself), but because we are working all the time, you will not bother us coming in and out at any time day or night. Your room is one of our guest rooms (we now have two since our son went off to college), and access is through common spaces and hallways. This may seem like an odd thing to detail, but many homes in New Orleans are shotgun style (with rooms opening into another), and this is NOT that type of a place :) Your room has a locking door, and you have unrestricted access to any of the common areas including shared kitchen, dining room, living room, and laundry facilities. You are more than welcome to cook meals, and join us if we cook dinner. During your stay When I hand off keys, I will give you a rundown of all the best things to take in around us. I am also available via text to recommend a place to eat or see around the city when you are out and about. Other things to note You should like kids, as we have a curious 3 year old daughter, and you will likely have to engage with her if you spend any time in our common spaces.
