The space Laurel Cottage is a delightful Berkshire Cottage experience designed to delight the senses with color, warm fabric touches, and a brilliant use of space. Nestled into a quiet neighborhood with mountain views and a large flat lawn, less than a mile from Ski Butternut, Laurel Cottage is close to all the shops and restaurants that downtown Great Barrington has to offer. This home is a true gem no matter what season you visit. In the summer, guests can enjoy warm breezes on the front screened porch and morning coffee on the back sun deck. The expansive flat lawn and East Mountain views offers guests plenty of space for outdoor games and nature viewing. Guests can also partake in water activities with a kayak and a full sized inflatable paddle board available for their use. We recommend Lake Mansfield and Lake Buel! In the winter, Laurel Cottage is less than 1 mile to Ski Butternut for skiing and tubing, and very close to town for theaters, shopping and fine dining... Overall, the location can't be beat! Guests enter through the screened-in porch, into the front entry hall with a closet for all of your outdoor gear. The home's concept is both open and cozy with the kitchen, dining, and living room space being "all-in-one", and includes a built-in cozy reading nook, or additional sleep space for an overnight guest. The well-appointed kitchen has all new stainless appliances (refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, and Italian 6 burner gas range, as well as a small microwave, toaster, and all the other gadgets you need to make a gourmet meal. The dining area has a round table that seats 6 with chairs and a built in banquette and there is additional counter seating for two 2 if needed. Down the hall from this space is the main floor guest suite with a full size bed, smart TV with Roku (please use your own logins), a bonus reading room and full bathroom with walk in shower. Upstairs, are two more bedrooms (queen and two twins) and a fresh full bath with gleaming tile in the tub/shower combo. The primary bedroom has a queen bed, with East Mountain views and a small reading/mediation nook, and the second bedroom has two twins beds. Both have closets and dressers, so there is plenty of storage for your stuff. Outside, guests can enjoy several areas! The front porch is fully screened and has 2 seating areas for lounging and dining al fresco. The sun deck with mountain views, outdoor seating, propane grill, and an umbrella is just off the kitchen and gets loads of sun. Surrounding the sun deck is a lush and expansive lawn, perfect for a game of tag or outdoor sports. There is also a darling garden shed on site, too! Guests are welcome to use the kayak and the full sized paddle board (at their own risk, of course!). We recommend taking them to Lake Mansfield and/or Lake Buel. This location in Great Barrington can't be beat! It is super close to restaurants, shops, farmers markets, grocery stores, theaters, hiking, swimming holes and so much more! If you love to ski, Ski Butternut is less than 1 mile away and Catamount Ski is only 15 minutes away! Lenox, Tanglewood, and Stockbridge are all a short 10-20 minutes drive, too....
