Description

This small simple house is situated near Interstate 80, one mile from Davenport city limits, near John Deere Davenport Training Center and John Deere Davenport Works. The cottage is surrounded by cornfields in the heart of an Iowa farming community, yet not far town on a paved road (55 mph) . Enjoy wide open vistas in privacy. Easy drive to Mississippi River, shopping and restaurants. The space It's a country cottage with an eat-in kitchen, a main floor master bedroom with queen bed, an upstairs bedroom with two twin beds, and another upstairs bedroom with one full size bed. The bathroom has a tub and shower. There is a deck off the back door with woods along the west border of the property. Guests are welcome to explore our 3 1/2 acres which was once part of a 150 acre farm. You might hear roosters crowing from the farm across the road. Harvest is usually the third week in September till the first week in November, dependent upon the weather, so this may be in progress during your stay. {We do not allow pets anywhere on the property.} Guest access We require a profile photo of the person booking, and number of beds to be used by your group. You may wander on our property and are welcome to pick black raspberries the end of June. There is a fire pit just past the garden shed. We provide fire wood. If children are part of your group and you are using the fire pit please be sure they are supervised by an adult. There is a sled in the garden shed for sledding on a small hill in winter and a vented jar for catching (and releasing) lightning bugs in summer. Other things to note The imperfections in this house built prior to 1900 make it all the more charming.
