Close to the uptown universities (Loyola and Tulane) and the restaurants and shops of the Riverbend area. Located in the lower half of owner-occupied residence. Here's some more information from the owner and a recent guest: Unless you have a car, you’ll probably need to take public transport to get to the French Quarter, Treme, the Bywater, or the Faubourg Marigny. Nearby, however, is the world famous Rock ‘n’ Bowl Lanes, a mere four blocks away, with incredible local music every night of the week. The Olde College Inn Restaurant is next door to the Lanes, and Mikimoto Restaurant (Japanese) is two blocks further up Carrollton Avenue. Another neighborhood, Riverbend, with many restaurants and one of the best music venues in town (the Maple Leaf Bar on Oak Streeet) is about 25 minutes away by foot, down Carrollton Avenue toward the Mississippi River. The buses take about 25 minutes to get downtown. The streetcar ride to downtown is scenic but 35+ minutes. The buses also don’t run late—though the streetcar does.
