There is no door to the bedroom, which opens into the living room - though there is a screen for privacy. There are doors to the upstairs bedroom, and both bathrooms. There are 3 heating/cooling systems: 1 for the downstairs, one for the upstairs and one for the solarium. It can be a little tricky given the open floor plan getting the temp just right since hot air rises - so the upstairs may be warmer than the downstairs! The upstairs has a balcony looking down into the first floor so kids/adults need to be safe with their behavior. There is also an outside balcony that can be unlocked bu it is only for emergency use. The balcony does not meet code for regular use (the railing is too low).
